They were actually Canadian, or at least living in Canada, but also Japanese. I tried to be friendly, but there was a language barrier.
I wish I could goo..ah so far sad
Oh, I'm glad someone bumped this, because I have been thinking about PUDDLE the past few days. I really want to go. Have we decided on a date yet, True?
I'm reeeeaaaally considering going this year! Just like you, Vadafade, I've been thinking about PUDDLE quite a bit lately. Since I'm moving to Cincinnati in a few short weeks, a weekend trip to Chicago would be a piece of cake for me! Special 3

But, assuming PUDDLE's going to be in June, the weekend of June 7th - 9th is the only one I could make (I'll be in Las Vegas for a loooong business trip the rest of the month). Will there be a formal poll for the date at some point? smile
The date is indeed June 7. I'd love to see you all make it! And we've had people come from Florida (and much much further) before. Info will be updated here:

And if you send me your email address you'll get updates by email.
Oh My YES! -Jumps up and celebrates-! That's a great weekend for me! I'll see what I can do! Special 3 Thank you so much!

TrueFan, I will PM you my email address right now. Thanks again!
Awesome! So glad to hear that. I will plan on attending. I'll PM you my email address, True!
Question - is PUDDLE metro accessible? Like, if I took the Cinci-Chicago train to Union Station, would there be an easy way to get to the Elk Grove Village Hotel? Special 3

- From a dweeb who's never been to Chicago

ETA: Vadafade! I really, really hope you can make it! Heart
I hope you can make it too, pixachii!! I would love to meet you IRL!!

There is a thread on the PUDDLE forum to help organize rides from the airport and train station. There are usually people willing to help out. I'm not sure about the trains though. I'm a driver. You could check the Chicago Metra site and see.

Aside from that, HOLY COW EXCITING!! I would love to meet both of you and see some of your family in person!!! I love meeting people from the forum.
Aha, a PUDDLE forum! I shall join.

(And likewise, Byronic!)
I got to PUDDLE a few years ago by taking the CTA blue line to O'Hare. From there the Holiday Inn has shuttles that can take you directly to the hotel. smile It was very convenient!

I love Chicago's public transit (and New York!) I wish the Bay Area had something as nice!
Thank you for the advice for PUDDLE travel! I already recruited some of my IRL friends to come too (the friend who introduced me to Pullips, she may potentially bring her boyfriend, and my unofficial fiance Alden), and we're trying to decide on the best way to get to PUDDLE together. So all of your tips and advice are very helpful.

ByronicHeronie! You were one of the people I was really hoping would be there this year! And Vanie, will you be going too, by any chance? I know you have a baby on the way, but it would sure be great to meet you as well! Heart

Who else is thinking of going? smile
@pixachii, I really wanted to go this year, and was planning to until I got pregnant. ^^' By the time PUDDLE comes around she'll be 2 months old, and I don't think I'd make it! XD Maybe next year though. smile

My husband has an uncle that lives in Chicago and we visit him every so often, so hopefully when we're ready to travel I can attend again (and stay longer this time!)
Well, I'll be going.
:-]
I will note, sometimes people take the blue line to O'Hare but then take a cab to the hotel. Depending on when you arrive, it might be worth the expense rather than waiting for the shuttle. Although PUDDLE is officially only Saturday, we go out to dinner at the Japanese Mall and hang out in the lobby having tea Friday night.
