Well, that’s too bad about the weather… Probably not snowstorming though. The grass is always greener, right?  LOL
Are the ankles poseable? It’s funny, for some reason I zoomed in to look at her feet before I read the comments.
It’s also fun to zoom in and look at all the little details in this set. It looks great.

No snowstorms... altho with temps forecast to dip in to the low 30s (just a tad above 0˚C) this coming week, with rain, I would not be surprised to see a few flakes. It apparently happens here from time to time.

Yes, the ankles flex and rotate. Not much good for standing unaided, but they look better than the ones with separate feet, which tend to have an unsightly gap at the ankle.

I could handle a few flakes. Heck, I could handle even 1 or 2 snowstorms a year, if that was all it was. Not winter until May and then bugs slash

Even that stick could be something in the background, from the angle. Doesn't look like it's "obviously" propping her up.

Oh... how odd! I didn't even see it like that! The "stick" you mention is actually not a prop stick. It is part of the decorative trim on the door in the background. But now that you mention it looking like a prop stick, I cannot see it as anything other than a stick.

I got another one of those little plastic jars with the plastic net on them.

RE: davidd's A DOLL A DAY 2024 - Alliecat - 01-18-2024

Oh boy. Guess someone needs their eyes checked. Again. LOL  I really thought it was trim to begin with but since the photo followed the discussion about posing and hidden prop sticks I thought you were demonstrating from a different angle.
Sometimes my brain is just on its own track separate from everyone else’s and I totally misinterpret things  LOL

Well, the little jars are cute. I think they are jars. You did say they were jars. They might not be jars. Am I really here…?   Rb_bigO

No, you are correct; while it is not a prop stick, it looks like a prop stick. Somebody on an action figure thought the same thing. And at least a couple of people didn't even notice the surfboard and thought the figure was holding its hands over its head. Somebody else noticed the figure was carrying something but did not know what.

So it was a failure on the part of the photographer and editor (me) to look at the image objectively and evaluate what it looks like rather than what I "knew" it was a picture of.

Now I'm questioning my own ability... eyesight... and sanity, because I actually thought it was a pretty good picture. I've been unhappy with most of my pix lately, but I actually liked that one.

"Liked." Past tense.  LOL

Further discussion on the Dal House forum.

Mangrove Seedling Progress

.

Bratz Selfie-Snaps Yasmin checks the progress of one of her mangrove seedlings.

This seedling began showing a fresh green shoot the last week of October 2023. As of mid-January 2024, or about three months later, the shoot has a few leaves and has grown to a height of about 5 inches or 13 centimeters.

Yay, a sprout! Cool. I love watching things grow. Never have a whole lot of luck with things from seed.

Quit tryna make yourself feel bad about your pictures. They are good, and everyone on Dal House said so too. Sometimes I am on a small phone screen which I need to stop doing; and unless I'm photoshopping I have the laptop brightness turned down substantially. With it all the way up, the board is obvious.

These things sprout pretty easily in plain water. But I don't know what to do with them after they sprout!   Oh My

I suppose five or ten minutes of online research will answer that question.

Haha, Lonely Hats Club is funny.

Can you bonsai a mangrove...? Then you could pot it and take it back to Utah with you.

You always do such great backgrounds!

RE: davidd's A DOLL A DAY 2024 - Alliecat - 01-21-2024

Well, that's more fun to have on your kitchen table than junk mail and miscellaneous dealwithit paper that you haven't, well, dealt with yet slash

The junk mail and miscellaneous paper is under the plastic bottles that have yet to be taken out to the recyling bin.  slash

Well... what'cha think?

Well... what d'you think? Shall we go for... how many days are left in the year? 344 more days of The Same Doll Holding Random Things?

Or maybe just ten more days, until the end of the month.

I'm struggling to summon any enthusiasm for ADAD2024.

RE: davidd's A DOLL A DAY 2024 - Alliecat - 01-22-2024

Aww, a teeny sextant! That's really neat! Did that come with one of your action figures or did you find it separately?

Ah, come on... you can do it. Doing a doll a day for, how many years now??, is quite an accomplishment! I would definitely not be able to keep that up.
