Looking forward to the possibility of carrots bigger than 2", and maybe even an actual beet or 2.  The greens have been terrific, thanks to someone watering much more diligently this year.  It's been very dry.  Must be mindful of the well.

I LOVE that scouting uniform! Heart 2

Bummer about the cost of the data recovery. No new dolls for a while, huh?
Do you have to pay if the recovery fails?

The mini scout uniform is so cute!

Fingers crossed for successful recovery of the phots / data.

Nice to see Darla having fun. She does like the milder weather.

These are just beautiful! The greenery and the light make them so soothing, aahhhh, I can feel my soul being cleansed.

Ooh, I feel soothed looking at these!

Ah, I really love those forest greens! I would love to swap places with Samantha ^^ And the Little Dal in Carrot Forest looks super cute!

Good luck getting used to the new computer! And I'm sad to hear the recovery costs are awful sad

I've had them probably 15 years and they've never bloomed!!  Is that their lifespan?  Are they like the ahinahina that blooms at the end of its life...?  I could look that up too, but I might accidentally see a photo LOL so I haven't.

The mother plant that shot up the flower does die after this process, but it shoots out a number of offsprings around her before she does so. According to a source, that's the reason for the plant family's name (semper translates to ~forever, vivum to living).
I just had a quick look, and read that Sempervivums take from 2 to 8 years to produce flowers, depending on their species and their living conditions.

Thanks for all the nice comments, everybody!
Still in computer limbo.  New laptop has some issues.  Seller not overly helpful.  No word on lost data yet.  What with trying to limit my time on the precious "old" drive, which doesn't have much room for a ton of photos, I'm still not taking that many.  Getting a little bogged in all the stuff that needs doing/doesn't work around here, so, just not being very creative slash
Managed to straggle out for the pic-a-week though.  Miki went back out to the garden to check out the "alien flowers".

Umm... this was a wee bit underwhelming.  It's very tall, and the branches were a surprise, but I kept ex-pecting the flowers to open into little stars or something, but they didn't.  This is as open as they got.

"Well... they're interesting!"

And another pic with the bee.

I'm not sure which is more visually captivating, those odd alien flower buds, or those adorable ringlets in Miki's hair!

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company -- random pix (new Aug. 7) - Elfy - 08-08-2020

I love Miki with the alien flower. Especially when she’s running gleefully to it to check it out.

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company -- random pix (new Aug. 7) - neon_jellyfish - 08-08-2020

Marvelous! I should consider getting some alien plants for my dolls.

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company -- random pix (new Aug. 7) - werepuppy - 08-08-2020

The alien flowers are so fascinating.

I hope your computer issues find their way to being fixed sooner rather than later!
