'Kay, like, you officially live in the coolest place in the world!
...I'm still irritated about the cloud cover on the night of the recent lunar eclipse.

But, but... looking at eclipse maps... OMG... you are in the path of annularity for 2023!!!!!  NOW who's jealous!!!!!!!! Oh My  It'll only be 10% here.  What's your weather like in October?
I'd chase that.  Dangit, I'd start thinking about booking something now, if I thought we'd be allowed to travel by then without a crapload of hassle.  Wah Cry

Well, that's interesting! Thanks for the tip! Of course, who knows, as you say, if we will be allowed to travel, or if we will even be alive a year and a half from now?

Took some searching to find a map that is detailed enough to show precise locations. That path is quite narrow. My house is just barely inside the path of totality. But an hour north up Highway 89 is right dead center of the path!

October 14, 2023 - I need to make a BIG NOTE about this!

This website says statistically, that date is overcast 21% of the time since 2000: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/@5540242?iso=20231014

Oh, wow! The path of the eclipse passes almost directly over Roswell, New Mexico... where the saucer crashed!

8 April 2024 for you, huh? Although only 97% coverage on the island. You might have to head for the mainland.

Oh, and, in keeping with, y'know, weather, tonight is a "super" full moon, so of course the much-needed rain clouds have rolled in. Lots of clouds, very little rain.

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company Pic-A-Week **2021**! (#25, June 21) - Alliecat - 06-25-2021

For an annular, it is apparently actually better to be closer to the edge, because you get longer Baily’s beads which are cool, although you do sacrifice length of annularity.
That path is much wider than the 2017 total one. If I recall, that one was only about 68 miles wide.
Here’s all the map site you need: http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/SolarEclipsesGoogleMaps.html

Why is it so far away? Cry I suppose I could book something and then cancel in a couple of years if the world is still a mess. Got any recommendations??

I would definitely not plan on New Brunswick in April. And definitely want to be somewhere else for that one!

The sun sets about 9:15 and there is still a bit of light in the sky at 10.  It's wonderful.  Hence I am often working in the yard till like 9:30 and suppers are 10 or later.  blush

Thank you guys!

Did some more Dal House challenge photos today in spite of too much wind on the beach for everything I wanted to do, so, may as well use one of today's pix for the pic-a-week.  Here's Samantha again in the outfit she won in last month's challenges.  I think it's perfect for her.

Is Sam trying to inspire the tomatoes to grow with that colorful outfit? It might work!

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company Pic-A-Week **2021**! (#25, June 21) - Elfy - 06-28-2021

She looks adorable posing there with the tomatoes and I love her dress. So appropriate!

Her dress is so cute, and suits her so well. Hopefully it will encourage the tomatoes to grow!

Very jaunty pose! She looks adorable, as always.

Thanks, all!
Ha! I never even thought about her being a plant cheerleader -- she certainly is dressed for it! LOL

...and just like that, we're halfway through another year of Pic-A-Week. Oh My

Samantha grabs the spotlight again, as someone dared her to show off the panties that came with her cute new outfit wink

Yup, it's that hot.
LOL xp

Looks like you and the girls are making the most of Canada”s heatwave.

I'm happy at least Samantha enjoys the hot. She's like my sister then - she loves hot weather too, and sometimes it's so hard for me, someone who wholeheartedly loathes hot, not to make any super awful comments at it.
Cute underpants! I love the matching socks, too.

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company Pic-A-Week **2021**! (#26, June 29) - Lejays17 - 07-05-2021

Samantha is a cheeky one - she seems to be secretly a nudist with the photos you’ve got of her removing items of clothing xp

The hot season is soooo short Cry -- gotta make the most of it while we can!

Hehe, we are total opposites there.  On a winter day, if it's sunny and someone says something like "nice day", I'm hard pressed to not growl, "IT'S TOO COLD".
...actually, that reaction starts around the end of September....   slash

Well, it WAS pretty hot.... ...... wink

Thanks to Lejays for the inspiration for this week's pix.  I've been talking to them, but the little carrots have really struggled with the heat.  They are so tiny sad  I'm counting on the new garden boxes' location in the sun to give me another month on the end of the season to make up for it.  So we called in a professional.  This is, after all, Claudine's original vocation.

The beets & chard, however, haven't seemed to need any encouragement.  First round of thinning/freezing happened today.

You're already harvesting from your garden?

I planted around a hundred seeds for dill plants. I got one. ONE.

Maybe I need to assign a cheerleader.

Your cheerleader is adorable!

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company Pic-A-Week **2021**! (#27, July 7) - Elfy - 07-08-2021

Gardens do seem to grow better with dolly cheering.

RE: PrettyTiny Film Company Pic-A-Week **2021**! (#27, July 7) - Lejays17 - 07-08-2021

She’s so cute, and I’m sure tge carrots will be much encouraged by her cheering them.
