Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2014

I had been meaning to set up a thread on the Puddle forum for us to talk about the sig figs we'll be dragging with. I'll be bringing mine, and while during Puddle he'll be helping me out, there's always the pre and post tea. I'm not sure what the hotel's policy on beer, but we'd be willing to bring some crafty goodness from WI (since we also do the craft beer thing).

I think taking a brewery is a great idea. I know that we try to make Sunday our day in the city. Last year we went to the Shed Aquarium.

Aww, yay for Mr. Pixachii and Mr. Byronic! Can't wait to meet them! Heart

ETA: As much as Mr. VF would love to come to Chicago for a weekend, unfortunately he won't be able to make it. PUDDLE is the same week as something called CMA Fest -- a gigantic multi-day country music festival in downtown Nashville -- and Mr. VF is a key player in running that event.

ByronicHeroine, I'll investigate the alcohol policy for the hotel. Happy I've stayed in many Holiday Inns during beer release events before, and they've usually been pretty relax about bottle sharing. Of course, I am taking about having a small handful of adult hotel guests enjoying a few bottles of select beer, rather than a raging party (which I am not at all interested in doing at PUDDLE, so please don't misinterpret this!!). Wisconsin has some fantastic beer (Serendipity is one of my very favorite beers, and it doesn't distribute in Ohio!), and I have my own modest little cellar of sharable goodies, so I'd love to hang out with you and Mr. ByronicHero and enjoy a brewski together. Happy

Goose Island may be a good pick for a Chicago-based brewery visit. According to Google, it's about 30 minutes away from PUDDLE. Though this would mean driving in towards the city at dinner time, so take that with a grain of salt, I guess.

All of that is to say, if anyone and their S.O. is looking for some non-dolly oriented Chicago fun after PUDDLE, and think that visiting a brewery would be enjoyable, The Pixachiis will be going to one, probably Saturday night, and we'd welcome company! (Though leave your dolls at the hotel, please).

@Vadafade: Oh no!! I was looking forward to meeting Mr. Vadafade! In any case, I'm still incredibly excited that you will be making the trip, though! Special 3 Will you be driving from Nashville alone?

No to raging parties here as well. I mentioned the idea of sharing to the fiance and he just kind of sat there. He can be so anti social. He's a great guy, he just needs to be pushed out of his shell. He really isn't one for being tipsy, let alone drunk.

Serendipity is a very nice thing to have on hand. I'm not sure if there's any left around here though. It was a result of the horrible hot summer a couple of years ago. At least something good came of that miserable time. Do you get any New Glarus in Ohio? They make a lot of really nice things.

Ha ha, no wild parties at PUDDLE! (Except the dolls - they can have wild parties.)

A big thank you to Caroline Louise/KnittingforPullip (www.etsy.com/shop/knittingforPullip). She donated the adorable outfit set for Pullip shown here to the 2014 Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event

PUDDLE 2014 is only three months away! Some things to do in the meantime.

1. Register and pay your registration fee if you haven't already. http://puddlestyle.com/register.html

2. Reserve a hotel room if you need one. http://puddlestyle.com/location.html

3. Take or draw a really great rainbow-themed photo or drawing and enter it into the online photo/art contest. (Anyone can enter - you don't have to attend.) http://puddlestyle.com/contests.html

4. Customize or modify one or more dolls to enter into the contests. I hope to see lots of Make It Own dolls this year!

5. Create matching outfits for you and your doll to wear in the Dress Like Your Doll Parade.

6. Buy or make one or more items to donate to PUDDLE for the 60 premium gift bags or for prizes.

7. Look for a ride, a rider, or a roommate on the PUDDLE forum. http://puddle.forumotion.com/

This year for the first time there will be a prize for Best in Theme. The best doll, outfit, photo, drawing, or other showing of creativity involving rainbows will win. All of the contests will have great prizes, but the winner of Best in Theme will receive a mint Pullip Kuhn. (And you can win one of the other contests and also Best in Theme.)

If anyone has any questions, please let me know!

Yes, question!! -raises hand- I remember seeing a post a looong time ago asking for blank/unused heads for a customization workshop. Will that workshop be happening? Should I order a MIO kit now to bring to PUDDLE?? Special 3

And thanks for the list of things to do for PUDDLE preparation! Now that spring is finally here, I'm feeling energetic and antsy, and I'm glad to have these projects to do! LOL

Good question. I hope there will be a customization workshop! If Requiem is there I'm sure there will be, we just have to work out details. I need to contact ShiftyLizard to see if they will have MIO kits for sale at PUDDLE, but if you have any interest in creating a custom, buying one in advance would be a good idea.

Oh man. I hope Requiem will be there. Her website was one of the first I discovered when I was learning about Pullips. I've looked up to her and her customizations for many, many years now. I would love to learn how to customize Pullips from her! Special 3

I will probably snap up a MIO kit sometime before June, just in case. Thank you for the information, True!

Guess who's coming to PUDDLE?! That's me! I also convinced my mom to come, cause i didn't want to come alone. I told her the theme was rainbows and she got excited! (I really hope for a customization workshop, I used that as one of the selling points for my mom! She had fun taking apart my Sol's head to replace his eye chips.)

So excited! My dad might get envious and want to come to Chicago with us, but I doubt he'll be keen on coming to a doll event. Of course, with him, you never know. :3

Yay! If your dad does come, I'm sure he can find other things to do (and he won't be the only dad there, I am sure).
