Honestly, I wish MH had more elaborate vampires. As it is, their powers are as vague and incosistent as their weaknesses. Vampire lore spans over centuries and is full of interesting stuff, and I wish there was more of it in literature and other media. Dracula had a lot of it, mostly in form of Van Helsing's monologues though (that book is insufferable! Nobody ever writes their journal entries like that, let alone newspaper articles! Eloquent language? Yes. Dialogues down to the very last word and three pages of action scene description? NO! All the interesting stuff in that book would fit on ten pages, if we left out all the overly detailed dialogues and landscape and weather descriptions. Or it shouldn't have been written as a set of journal entries, letters and newspaper articles).
