Shion's first wig was cute, but that second one turns her into a heart-melting dream!  Heart 2

Thank you so much everyone for the lovely comments!

@Alliecat: You're right. I haven't seen a Yuri, yet, but she really is a lovely doll with such an awesome stock! ^^

On May 1, 2019, Japan entered into a new era called the Reiwa Era after Emperor Akihito abdicated the throne. Shion celebrates the first year of Reiwa by wearing her stock kimono. smile

Your Shion is stunning! She must be one of the prettiest Pullips ever!

Or at least, you version is! Have you replaced her eye chips? And wig?

Thank you so much davidd. Your comment makes me so happy! I've only changed her wig.

I was also glad you mentioned the news about the Emperor stepping down! Why is that not receiving MAJOR news coverage? At least, not here in the US. That is a huge historical event on the international stage! After you mentioned that, I searched online and read several articles about the passing of the torch.

You're welcome, davidd. I don't follow my own news channels at all really. I found out through the Japan Foundation, an association for Japanese languages that I'm interested in. It definitely is big news since Emperor Akihito is the first to be allowed to retire from the throne: Emperors are required to fill the position until their death. I thought that was interesting. I think even more noteworthy is that his son Naruhito, the new emperor, plays viola! For a cellist and violinist like me, that was surprising news in itself.

@neon_jellyfish: Thank you so much! I'm thinking about getting a new Taeyang as well, but possibly later on. I have a body; I could probably find a bait head somewhere and have someone customize it.

She's lovely! It's photos like that that get people buying Pullips they didn't know they needed LOL

Because American news doesn't cover anything else anywhere else in the world unless they're involved in it somehow or you watch Rosemary Church in the middle of the night! I remember on one of my first visits to the USA ages ago, thinking the rest of the world could disappear and they wouldn't report on it. It was in our news.

And I noticed when I moved to Hawaii that if it does not relate directly to Hawaii it is not covered in Hawaii news! It was weird, as though Hawaii was a completely separate country determined to remain intentionally oblivious to the rest of the world... unless there was a way to profit through a Hawaii connection.

I actually pick up a lot of things through the forums, which I am then able to research online. Forum participation is a good way to stay informed and not be caught in an externally imposed "news bubble" wherever we happen to live.

Welll...llll.... it does kinda feel like a separate country... LOL
I didn't watch any TV this time. I had a TV during the winter I spent there but I don't remember what I watched besides the Merrie Monarch coverage.
One does need something like BBC or PBS to get much world news.

The dollies went camping in the backyard this weekend. It was a bit too nature-y for me. I never encountered so many bugs in my life for outdoor photoshoots, but they were everywhere! I am glad to have gotten some good shots out of it, despite battling critters!
