Ai dolls are a tiny, plastic (not resin) ball-jointed doll produced by Jun Planning/Groove, the same people who make Pullips. They come fully dressed and with a unique faceup per model, but their wigs and eyes are easily removable (respectively with Velcro and eye putty) for easy customization. There are 4 different face molds for Ai Dolls; there is a guide to the four types, with examples of each one, here.

If you're looking for clothing, Etsy seller nubanded makes some things in Ai size. Search their shop for Ai or Hujoo baby: https://www.etsy.com/shop/nubanded?ref=l...eader-name
I got a couple of the tshirt/knit pant sets for Spike so he has something else to wear.

Thank you! I've added a section for clothes sellers, and hujoo babies to a list of dolls the same size.

I should dig out my Hujoo baby and take a side by side comparison photo. He's headless at the moment and I'm not exactly sure where the body is.

That would be wonderful, if you could when it is convenient for you. Could I link to or embed the photo with a small thumbnail under references?

Sure! I found him and took a few photos along with an 11cm obitsu. I probably won't get to post them until later this evening. Hina has a comparison of Ais with a lot of the tiny bjds, too.

Here's my comparison of a Little Dal on an 11cm obitsu, Ai Vinca, and headless Hujoo baby.
And 2 outfits from Nubanded. I bought boyish looking clothes for Spike, but it's such a pain in the arse to take his stock on and off that I used Vinca to model them.
This one was described as being for 15cm size.
And this one was described as being for a Hujoo baby. The pants are a bit short, but the shirt fits fine.

Oh, cute!
Btw, Michael's has some fancy seasonal shadow boxes just perfect for Ai Doll display in, and they're 40% off this week! (Stalking them until the price dropped worked. :3 )
I'm thinking of going back and getting another one for Anne-the-Ai-Doll to make a matching pair. They're something like $11 USD on sale, and have easy front-openings with magnetic closure. Very nice!
04-27-2015, 10:46 AM
Those are cute. No Michaels near me though.
04-27-2015, 11:00 AM
Oh, boy, that's tempting! I might have to look into this.

Would a 4-4.5 wig fit, do you think? :? This seller has some pretty awesome ones.

Bump for new info.
