davidd - thanks! Of course Skelita is brave! All my ghouls are! Curiously enough, it's been mostly Pullips who ventured outside - Rhiannon posed on the outer window ledge, Mint Alice got as far as to my parents' place to document lovely patch of snowdrops, Wilhelmina, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Milk Latte and Eos went to Šárka with me, and Pluto and Aurora enjoyed the Steamlovers' meet-up - in another town! Meanwhile, my MHs didn't get further than to the aforementioned window ledge (they call it balcony
), and only four of them had their photos taken there - sig Clawdeen, sig Spectra, sig Abbey and now AC Skelita...Lejays - hehe, thanks! Whoa, those temperatures would kill me, I can't deal with anything over 25°C... Take a good care of yourselves, both you and Elfy!
werepuppy - thank you! We don't enjoy much snow here (it's better outside of the city), so I think she's just happy to be able to play in it, eventhough it is chilly.

Over on MH Arena forums, there usually are year review threads, with a set of questions to answer, and I like them and I decided to steal that idea and use it for my photos. So for the next few days, I'll be posting these:
- my first doll of 2018
- my last doll of 2018
- the best catch of 2018
- the best dolly (or otherwise hobby-related) memory of 2018
- dolly resolution(s) for 2019
- there's also 'how many dolls you added to your collection' one, but I already covered that in last year's thread, and 'your best doll photo' one, but I wouldn't be able to pick...

So the first doll of 2018 was EAH Spring Unsprung Cedar Wood. I tried for a bit of a dramatic partial backlighting here, guess I'll have to ex-periment with it more...

The partial backlighting worked especially well on the skirt. Nice fill light reveals the details on the front of her stockings.
I like the way the pattern in the dress suggests wood grain, corresponding to her texture.

Oh, wow, that Cedar is gorgeous! We didn't get a lot of EAH lines in the UK so sometimes it feels like I'm seeing them for just the first time and you always light your pictures so nicely.

Ciel was the last doll I got in 2018, and the last doll I got so far, but I'm sure my collection will keep on ex-panding in 2019

Ah, I really do love that costume design for Ciel. In your picture, it looks like he's just daring someone to make a comment on his appeal. His posture implies he's ready for a confrontation.It's a really nice shot.

Beautiful Cedar - I think I may have said before, but she's one of the first "double" character I got. And I've got all the Spring Unsprung dolls (except for Kitty).
Ciel is raidiating attitude there, like he's daring people to comment on his twirly-whirly-gig ruffle.

I've added many beautiful dolls to my collection in 2018, but these two are, without a doubt, the greatest acquisitions! If I absolutely had to, I would give the title of The Best Catch Of 2018 to Aurora, but Eos is a very close second, it's practically a tie.
