Makin Christmas cake with the ancestors. Dad's mom's recipe must be "nigh on 100" years old, and I think it has been made every year since I was a little kid.

Light fruitcake.  I don't get why people don't like fruitcake.  >shrugs<  I mean, if it's sticky and stuffed full of booze, yeah, but this isn't.

Well... 51 weeks later, here we are at the dark bitter-end dregs of another year.  Blaah.
In the spirit of kicking at the darkness, the PTFCo holiday party is kicking off for another year.  Nanette & Cygnie are this year's greeters.  Welcome to Da Best Party!  smile

Thank you for helping kick out the dark bitter dregs. The dregs here are pretty damned dark and bitter ATM, but maybe getting better? At least I'm back and b*tching about it!

Gonna be Away From Keyboard for another week -- holidays, relatives, etcetera, which is a metric crap-ton better than the previous week or ten days which involved the insanity of the Medical Industrial Complex.

davidd, I hope you are OK.
The dregs of the year are pretty dark everywhere, if you ask me.

..."Still... it could be worse."

Yeah, you know what this means.... It's PTFCo Christmas party time! Behind the scenes smile

YAY, party time!

I love the starry night backdrop, and I'm glad the PTFCo gang got in to the holiday spirit!

Congratulations on a successful conclusion to A Doll A Week 2025!

Thank you, and congrats to you as well. I could not do one a day, even 'most of the days'.
That backdrop was both a PITA and a great illustration of why you should never throw anything away, especially in case it might come in handy as a dolly photo prop. I wouldn't have ex-pected to use them this way, but there is a little box of (probably no longer sticky) gummed stars that have been in the Christmas card/tag boxes since I was a little kid. Other years I kept one string of fairy lights for the backdrop but I guess I forgot this year and they all went under the snow, so I used these. They sat pretty well on the fabric, but they also all fell off whenever I moved it or brushed past it. Trying to get in & out behind that table is one of the times I find balance from yoga to be helpful xp

It looks like quite a holiday-party hangover here, but really it's just that one of the cats here is into EVERYTHING, so everybody has to stay out of reach LOL

Thanks for following the PTFCo crew through 2025.
Here's hoping for more adventures in 2026!

Sounds like 2026 is starting out as a (snowbound) adventure since you are house-sitting and away from home base.

Better and more satisfying adventures in 2026!
