A Lady in Red - Myracuulous - 08-20-2012 Though I'm still working on the outfit, my little Lady Minerva now has some respectable clothes with which to show off. Red velvet jacket and matching skirt, now if only I could tame that flyaway hair. The matching bustle is still sort of a work in progress, but it's looking promising. Outside at the park, quite enjoying the nice weather Chilling with Dante Alighieri, her new BFF. RE: A Lady in Red - kitten-squid - 08-20-2012 Wow! That's a fantastic outfit! You've done a wonderful job! RE: A Lady in Red - FishiesGoPook - 08-20-2012 she is coming along so wonderfully! and the outfit is fantastic! RE: A Lady in Red - Lilcurly - 08-21-2012 She looks great, so pretty You've done a great job with that velvet, I can't imagine it's easy to work with. RE: A Lady in Red - KiraKira - 08-21-2012 Beautiful dress! She really does bring to mind a time long ago... RE: A Lady in Red - Myracuulous - 09-03-2012 A bit belated, but thank you all for the comments @ Lilcurly: The fabric I have is actually really easy to work with It's not quite velvet, it just looks a lot like it. Wish I knew what it was made of or where to get more, I got it at a big secondhand fabric sale a year or so back RE: A Lady in Red - Cherryfox - 09-03-2012 Well done with your sewing. Looks like flocked cotton to me, does the back look like embroidery fabric all criss crosses? RE: A Lady in Red - Myracuulous - 09-05-2012 You're right, it's probably flocked something. Definitely a woven fabric, though it feels more like polyester than cotton to me in person. Whatever it is, I'm on the lookout for more. I've never worked with another fabric that frays so little (Er, except for felt. Felt doesn't count.) RE: A Lady in Red - Cherryfox - 09-05-2012 yeah I made a corset not so long ago from some similar in green, a pleasure to not have to fray check every edge before starting work! x |
