PTFCo crew tests new camera - Alliecat - 11-14-2016 Things have been pretty crappy around here lately; I haven't been taking pictures. I should do more dolly therapy. These photos are way late; they've sat on my desktop to post for ages, so here they are. You know you're obsessed with doll photography when you get a camera specifically for the purpose. I adore my film camera but it's nearly impossible to get film done around here any more And my mini digicam didn't give me the control over depth of field that I wanted. So I broke down and bought a digital SLR. I've been underwhelmed, partly because the organic feel of being part of the photo process is gone; it's more like programming the VCR (a nuclear powered one... with a 300 page manual; I mean, what the bleep!). Plus it doesn't take sharp photos. Part of that problem may be the kit lens it came with. Anyway, various members of the PrettyTiny Film Company helped test it; some of these are from July!! but in a dreary November, it's nice to see some green. Petra checking out the cranesbill beside the compost bin! Visiting the garden fairy, whose solar-powered flowers light up at night. Here's Grace. And Aislinn. Got this outfit while shopping for something else. It seems perfect for Robyn. Crystal, Connie Bees's mini Sugar Plum, being adorable. The minis elored the long grass & hawkweed on the front lawn. Here's Miki. Roxann... Marie has the smallest portfolio of the gang. We should work on that. And finally the president, CCO* and Queen Bee of PTFCo, Miss Sunsette LaVoile! (*Chief Cuteness Officer) Thanks for looking! RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - dargosmydaddy - 11-14-2016 These brightened my day. I am especially in love with the one of Crystal... I love those wings, and her little freckles. RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Doll Angel (Janeen F) - 11-14-2016 It is so nice seeing your crew at work!! Awww , just look at all of them, running around in fields and posing with pretty fairy wings. They must of had a bunch of fun Robyn looks especially stunning! *_* RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Miss Edith - 11-14-2016 your photos are beautiful, as they always are. I think my favourite is Aislinn, the stunning wings suit her so well and blend into the beautiful background colours RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Cornflower Blue - 11-14-2016 So many lovely flowers and lovely girls! RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Offgenemi - 11-14-2016 All of them are gorgeous photos I like the new camera, your photos look even better. Girls look very happy to pose RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - MissMandyLynne - 11-14-2016 Okay I think you've mentioned this before, but where did you get those wigs? RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - enofelli - 11-14-2016 Nice pictures, the colours are really vibrant RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - DeadlyNova - 11-14-2016 I think your photos look GORGEOUS with this new camera. These are beautiful. <3 RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - davidd - 11-15-2016 Personally, I would be delighted to have taken photos that look this good! Yes, more control over the depth of field is one of the main advantages to a DSLR. The "300 page programming manual" is one of the downsides. :-( What kind of camera are you using? RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Alliecat - 11-15-2016 Thank you for all the lovely comments, everybody! Now that I look at the photo sizes, some of them were taken with the pocket Pentax Optio. The longer-sided ones are from the new camera. (11-14-2016, 02:00 PM)MissMandyLynne Wrote: Okay I think you've mentioned this before, but where did you get those wigs? The wings...? "Mei4life" on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Mei4life And good luck picking just one or two!! Google tells me there are other people having focus problems. Some misalignment of the sensor can cause it to back- or front-focus. Haven't had time to do test shots with it yet. Not that I want to venture into "Debug Mode" to fix it. Yeah, I think something with a 300-page manual ought to at least also play music while I photograph, and make me tea when I get back. I don't even know where the manual for my beloved K1000 is. You don't *need* it. It was like 8 pages, I think. SIIGGGGHHHHH..... .... But I do take too many doll pictures for film... or at least, maybe if I was shooting film I'd take many fewer, because they'd be right the first time!! RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Miss Edith - 11-15-2016 omg Allie, LQQK @ your family ! Clearly I knew it was growing but I have just concentrated on your sig -- what a beautiful population elosion May I ask if little blue Alice has had many photos taken? I zone out and miss posts, & I think she is one of the prettiest minis ever RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Lejays17 - 11-15-2016 Such pretty girls. I love the butterfly wings on them RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Alliecat - 11-17-2016 Thank you both I was really smitten with the wings when I first saw them too -- it took forever to pick just a few sets. I still have a short list for maybe some more, sometime. (11-15-2016, 08:20 PM)Miss Edith Wrote: omg Allie, LQQK @ your family ! Mini Alice arrived in the middle of a bad summer and I haven't been taking as many pictures lately, but she did get an arrival photo shoot. (http://forums.dollymarket.net/showthread.php?tid=7260406) And I agree, she is very sweet! She was on my wanted list for quite some time! RE: PTFCo crew tests new camera - Miss Edith - 11-17-2016 ahh thanks for the link, I had missed seeing that. Beautiful pics natch, I love the welcoming committee That little girl has this genuine innocence & pale beauty, she really is quite unique IMO. She would not fit in my family, innocents are very thin on the ground here |
