I love Avea Trotter. Your B&W photo makes her look slightly .. sinister.

February 23: Monster High Headmistress Bloodgood

RE: davidd's A Doll A Day 2018 - Alliecat - 02-24-2018

I'm enjoying all your landscapes. This is another nice one, and she looks like she's heading somewhere on a mission smile

RE: davidd's A Doll A Day 2018 - Miss Edith - 02-24-2018

the Headmistress looks determined & it appears to be miles of snow. Very effective photo.

Ooh, love that picture of Bloodgood! She looks so determined! I have a few of the Equestrian Girls vinyl minis and let me tell you, they are the cutest things ever! Haven’t kept up with FiM in ages but I still kind of want the mane six in the minis.

I have been seriously tempted by the Equestria Girls minis, but so far have resisted.

February 24: Mini keychain figure

RE: davidd's A Doll A Day 2018 - Miss Edith - 02-25-2018

that is a very sweet vintage figure & I love the background you chose for her.

She's a very mod looking little figure. Is she a Licca?

RE: davidd's A Doll A Day 2018 - Alliecat - 02-25-2018

Aw, she's cute smile

She is a no-name figure, about 1-1/2 inches (3.5 cm) tall, that was originally attached to a key ring I found at a gift shop a few years ago. She appears much larger in the photo than she actually is.

Since I'm feeling a bit lazy, here's another one for today's photo:

I really like this one!

The little figurines are interesting too.

February 26: Guatemalan Worry Dolls
"According to legend, Guatemalan children tell
one worry to each doll when they go to bed and night
and then place the dolls under their pillow. In the
morning the dolls have taken their worries away."

Size: about one inch (2.5 centimeters) tall.

RE: davidd's A Doll A Day 2018 - Alliecat - 02-27-2018

I've heard of them; not sure if I've heard exactly what you are supposed to do with them. Man, I could use a whole army of worry dolls LOL
Are their faces clay, or...?
I like how you chose a setting that suited their sort of rustic look.

The bodies and faces seem to be made of paper. I cannot imagine the tedious hand work that goes in to wrapping them with different colors of cloth for clothing and then painting on the faces and hair.

And then the little hand-painted wooden box with five or six tiny figures sells for two dollars at a touristy gift shop.
