Hunter x Hunter! - DeadlyNova - 04-30-2020 I've shown two of the dolls I'd finished from this series before, but now I've finished all of them! Unfortunately the shoot I had didn't go quite as planned, and I didn't get any salvageable individual photos of them, but I did take a few group ones I would like to share! I plan on having photoshoots later with each of them so that I can take better photos. I also have a couple of finishing touches I'd like to make, mainly fixing Gon's hair to where it doesn't look completely wack. His hairstyle does NOT translate well to doll form, haha. Before I show you the dolls, let me show you the characters they are modeled after. Left to right: Kurapika, Gon Freecss, Leorio Paladiknight, Killua Zoldyck, Alluka Zoldyck. Kurapika's outfits in the series are very unique to his culture, so they would have to be handmade. I decided instead to choose an outfit and an entire look, really(including the longer hair) that he wears later in the series. Also note that Kurapika is male, despite the fact I've used a Pullip to portray him. I also chose to give Gon a different outfit, albeit barely, than his main one. Other than Alluka's outfit that was custom made for me a long time ago, I have gone with things I can piece together myself. Here are the results! WHEW. Thanks for looking! RE: Hunter x Hunter! - davidd - 04-30-2020 Impressive likenesses! What a fun project! Those eyeglasses are cool! You've done some serious searching to find the outfits and accessories to re-create these characters! RE: Hunter x Hunter! - Alliecat - 04-30-2020 Wow. While I have no idea who any of them are or what it's about, I think you did a great job of replicating all the characters. The group shots make them look like a family/friends (?) with a history. Well done I like the 2nd 'hugs' one best -- cute. WHEW.Haha RE: Hunter x Hunter! - DeadlyNova - 04-30-2020 Thank you guys so so much! Yeah, I've been working on them a little at a time for about a year now, getting all the bits and pieces I needed. <3 And yes, a family/friends with a lot of history is the look I was going for. These guys perfectly fit the 'found family' trope. <3 RE: Hunter x Hunter! - neon_jellyfish - 04-30-2020 They look fantastic!!! Not only the customs, the phots themselves are also great! RE: Hunter x Hunter! - dargosmydaddy - 04-30-2020 Adorable! And I love how you did the Isul (Gon Freecss?) with the triangular spiky hair! RE: Hunter x Hunter! - Lejays17 - 04-30-2020 Like others, I have no idea of the inspiration for these, but you’ve done a great job in re-creating them. The photos you’ve used really do show off their family/friend closeness. Looking forward to seeing more photos of them with the tweaks you will make. |
