Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - TrueFan - 08-26-2023 Retro Memories Sweet Sixteen, coming June 8, 2024 in the Chicago suburb of Elk Grove Village. ![]() PUDDLE 2024 banner by TrueFan, on Flickr www.puddlestyle.com RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - fishy - 08-30-2023 The banner is so cute. (I must be old, I recognize most of those things lol.) RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - TrueFan - 08-31-2023 Ruth Poole did a great job on the banner! RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - davidd - 08-31-2023 I must be really old, only a couple of the curios in that illustration are from when I was a kid. Everything else is new! ![]() RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - TrueFan - 08-31-2023 I almost asked Ruth to add some older toys. ![]() RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - davidd - 08-31-2023 (08-31-2023, 03:40 AM)TrueFan Wrote: I almost asked Ruth to add some older toys. It's a nice mix the way it is. Although Raggedy Ann might have been a nice addition. She's a classic. The Etch-a-Sketch was a fun touch! And is that a Felix the Cat poster on the wall? Or is it really old and obscure: Krazy Kat? Oh, lookit, I just learned something! The Krazy Kat comic strip (1913 - 1944) was set in a fictionalized version of Coconino County in Arizona... which is only an hour down the pike from where I currently live! I've long felt that living here is often like living in a surreal alternate universe. Now I have objective evidence to support my subjective observations. RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - TrueFan - 08-31-2023 I thought about suggesting a Magic 8 ball to go with the Pokeball, or the addition of a troll. But it's really well balanced the way it is. RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - Alliecat - 08-31-2023 Sucks when the stuff from your childhood is so "vintage" ![]() I recognize pretty well all of it too, except the little figure left of the Viewmaster...? And the heart thing on the upper shelf. RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - TrueFan - 08-31-2023 I think the heart thing might be a case for Polly Pocket dolls. Could the other figure possibly be Donald Duck....? I was thinking the figure to the left of the Viewmaster was a generic snowman figurine, but I just figured it out! Okay... this is so cool. I mean, SOOO FREAKIN' COOL! I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be... the 1970s version of the Hasbro Snow Cone Maker: ![]() Here's a link -- appropriately, to a site called Neato Coolville -- telling all about the Hasbro Snow Cone Makers... for those of you who were unfortunate to have missed out on such childhood wonders: https://neatocoolville.blogspot.com/2013/12/frosty-sno-man-sno-cone-machine-toy.html RE: Pullip and Dal Doll Lovers Event 2024 - Alliecat - 08-31-2023 Oh my. I think I do vaguely remember those. From, uh, reading history and stuff, yeah, that's it. I'm only 29.
