Werepuppy's (Attempt At) Doll-A-Day 2019!
Anne is very cute and every girl needs a penguin to snuggle up to.

He looks super soft & cuddly.

Megan Follows is so much 'Anne' for me that I haven't had any interest in watching later versions. There's been one on TV here recently and I'm just like 'nah'... So it was very strange to see her as an amoral conniving & almost-villainous character in 'Reign'. She was very good!, it just took some getting used to LOL

They very much are! Vel is so happy to have another cuddly friend.

Tags that have not been removed, though there may be a picture later this week that involves theatre tickets...

Anne is just so adorable, and I'm so pleased to have her. Vel agrees - penguins are the most cuddly, according to her.

Oh, he really is - Steiff's plush line is just so soft. Worth all the pennies. Though Flaps was a gift, so that was nice.

Oh yes! I had forgotten she played the French Queen in Reign - it's so hard to connect those roles and know it's the same actress. (I have my issues with Reign being that it's about one of the most infamous Scottish monarchs but I'll allow that it's an oddly fun show and well, there's been worse done to the Tudors.)

Because I was feeling too lazy to take anything else today.

It's always fun to see a shelfie, particularly a shelfie of your varied and eccentric crew.

Is that Ophelia at the lower right? That's not Gaston she's sitting with. This could get messy!
They're not dolls, they're action figures!

Shelfies for the win!!!!!!!!

On the topic of Ophelia's shelf-colleague - ditching Gaston for V is a no-brainer. Of course, ditching Gaston should be a no-brainer regardless of whether there's someone else or not...

They certainly did take some ridiculous "artistic license" (?). But yes, it was "oddly fun". And I also had fun spotting all the anachronisms in the dialogue. I get it that they wanted to make it relevant to young audiences today, but, some of the words they used were just no way in use during that period. A careful writer can find alternatives that still make sense... Tongue

Interesting collection of dolls and books. I saw some of Jim Hines’ Princess series there. About to do a reread of that in the new year.

Lol, weirdly I only picked up that doll because he was on sale at the store and I thought with his hair and outfit he would make a good friend to Momoko. I may have to reconsider things...

Gaston is going to be so annoyed to realise people are encouraging Ophelia to ditch him...

I like having a mix. Though that being said I do have a shelf that is all green witches... (I'll pic take that I think.)

Thank you!

See I am one of those who does not mind the use of contemporary language in historical based things so long as it works well. Reign tended to jump around a lot tone wise for that...

My shelves will probably get re-organised again following the New Year. I know I want to re-arrange the hardbacks at least... I've got four of Jim Hines' Princess books - not sure if there's more...

354: Potential New Friendship

[Image: 63719969_c32708f1d1fb759c1c160850e7a771ba_standard.jpg]
"Hi, I'm Vel!"
"Basil Vincent."
"I like your top, do you play a lot of sports?"
"...It was the only one that really fit..."
"Oh. ... Do you want to go watch a film?"
"Yeah, alright."

I think they'll get along well. If my memory serves me correctly, Vel also has a thing for giant cups of tea, so they share a hobby...

What? She didn't ask him if he wants to go chase a ball or fetch sticks?

Cute start to hopefully a new friendship.

Aw, he looks kind of shy in that picture. Glad he found a friend.

Well, they look the right size to hang out together. Perhaps the ball-&-stick-fetching will come on the next play date LOL

Heh. I can't remember what word she used at one point... maybe something about "networking" or something similar...?.... and I just howled. Completely wrecks the suspension-of-disbelief for me, and after having discovered Etymology Online, I'm merciless with that kind of thing LOL

The Jim Hines Princess books finished with 4, then he started the Libriomancer series. Basil certainly has the knack for making friends.
