I've been up most of the night because of migraine and heat, so I spent some time just looking out of the window, and I finally spotted them (davidd's hummingbirds / hummingbats, that is)! They even came close, fluttered around my head for a bit, but then they left. I was willing to sacrifice some of my brain juice to capture one of them, but these creatures are awfully fast, and they showed no interest in my brain. I'm starting to wonder whether I still have one...

These were a bit different from the ones Nellie saw in Utah, they had red-orange-pink iridescent feathers on their heads and necks.
