It's an American poem from the 1840s. Perhaps it is not widely known outside of the States. And actually, the lines are not from the "Nevermore" poem, but from one by the same author with a similar melancholy theme and tone.

They live in a dungeon, so there's no escaping the gloomy Halloween theme.
I have, on occasion, tried to construct "cheerful" or at least relatively "normal" dollhouse settings, but they always end up taking a turn toward the morose and macabre.

Trying to figure out what all you've got in the background there -- quite a good lot of mysterious bits & pieces.
Yeah, we should probably see Smarts & Crafts take on a pumpkin.
I'm not ready to carve mine. I was so happy to grow my own; I hope it's as nice inside as it looks outside, but, I'm just kind of not ready to do all that work again yet.

That pic was snapped in one of my diorama sets that has become a dumping ground for random junk out in the storage shed. I did not do anything to set up the scene other than set the figure in place and shine a flashlight on it.

Well yeah, it was you who inspired me to start doing pineapples.
And did you actually put a lit match in her hand?? Wow — must be some durable plastic.
You had time to do your pumpkin, yay. It’s kind of a big job. I’m trying to get motivated to go out on a wet windy dark day and get some groceries which will have to include a pineapple.

This was the easiest pumpkin I ever carved. Maybe 15 or 20 minutes total, including set-up and clean-up. The interior was stringy and dry, so it scraped out quickly and easily. Obviously the design was very simple, basically three circles plus the top. I wasn't even going to do a pumpkin this year, but there this one sat at the local grocery market at a reduced price, one of two that were left, so it was a spur of the moment decision.
