Hometown Park Jaunt

There's a nice park a couple blocks from my house, and they recently set up a cool little concrete marker thing to commemorate its location on historic Route 66. I've been wanting to take some doll photos with it for a while, and finally got around to it this week, so Marty, Jace, Nevada, and Nemo took a little trip to the park with me!









They also recently put up a couple of these painted pallet American flags, which I thought made for a fun backdrop as well.

Ha -- clever use for a pallet. Looks like a fun shoot. I like the 2nd one of them all on top of the sign. And in the first pic, they look like they're hoping to hitch a ride.

Awww, your dolls are so adorable! I love how you were able to get them all balanced on the route 66 sign That is such a neat idea to have them all hanging out on the sign. The one with the sun peeking through the American flag has such a beautiful effect <3! And I love how Marty and Jace got to spend some time alone together on the ledge They look so sweet together! I hope that there date went well after Nevada got them together.

Now that you mention it, they do! I feel like Jace would be very uncomfortable with the general sketchiness of hitchhiking, though (although I could see him tagging along to try and keep the others out of trouble!)

Interestingly enough, I grew up in Springfield, Illinois, which is also on Route 66, so I've lived in Route 66 territory for quite some time now. I brought lots of Route 66 trinkets with me when I went to Japan last summer to give to new friends because it's something interesting from both the places I call home, and it's cool that it's well-known around the world too!

And I love how Marty and Jace got to spend some time alone together on the ledge They look so sweet together! I hope that there date went well after Nevada got them together.

I keep saying I need to get their first date photoshoot done. I know what I want to do with it generally how I want it to happen, and all I'm really lacking now is a couple of necessary props and time to actually take the pics. I'm hoping it can maybe happen next week!
