Edit Reason: too much hurry
)
Yes, it's somewhat normal winter weather. A week has passed and it's another howling pouring gale. But not super cold, so I went for a walk and got soaked
Elsewhere I hear, is being buried in snow.
The Forces of Nope continue to try to thwart plans... there are days when I literally scream at the heavens, "IS THAT ALL YOU GOT???!!"
Anyway, here are Dae & Kitty at our house-sit. It's a nice quiet spot on a riverbank.

Looks sunny and nice to me. No wind to speak of, otherwise there's no way you'd get them to stand like that.
Or did you end up with cracked faces after this photo-shoot?
It's a really cute pic. The light was just right. Not easy to get proper e
osure with a dark-haired tan fig and a pale blonde in the same scene. Mix in some black clothes to make things extra tricky, why don't'cha? Now you're showing off!

There have been a couple of nice days and it finally stopped raining for a bit. And yes, the contrast was really difficult here and I had to shoot several pix to get something useable. I don't recall but I probably lightened the shadows with Photoshop.
Well, .... .... ... here we are. The end of another year. I guess there's something to be said for being distracted enough to not be paying attention to the dates. Can't do a momentous year-end shot this time... maybe in a while looking back this will just have been quietly momentous. Another chapter ends.
We're still ex!ploring south shore Nova Scotia, and here are the girls on Second Peninsula, part of the coast near Lunenburg.
"This is nice too, mum. It also kinda looks like home."
Happy New Year to all two? three? of us here.
Let's hope 2023 is a better year for all of us. Bring it on...

Lunenburg? So that means... you're very close to the mysterious Oak Island! Is that Mahone Bay in your pic?
That's so exciting! I've been watching the TV series "The Curse of Oak Island" for... it's in its tenth season now! And I've been following the story, off and on, since I was a little kid and read an article about the treasure hunt in an old magazine while sitting in the waiting room in a dentist's office.
You and the girls could find pirate treasure right there where you are! Rumors have it that many a pirate called the convoluted shoreline of Mahone Bay home, from where they preyed on passing Spanish gold galleons. Of course, the rumors are very likely just that, rumors, but still, it's an entertaining idea.
Or maybe you can find some banded Wishing Stones on that cobble beach.
Glad you're getting out to see, and share, some sights! In your pix, Canada in mid-winter looks quite pleasant and still relatively unspoiled.
Congratulations on successfully completing A Doll A Week!

Nova Scotia looks lovely. Glad you were able to take advantage of the new scenery, even if the weather wasn't entirely cooperative.
Happy (almost) New Year!

Yes, it's Mahone Bay, and I might've got a distant photo of it for you if it hadn't been twilight & raining when I drove through the area again today.
We'd
need some pirate treasure, given the property prices in this particular area. Guess we'd better collect some wishing stones.

Yeah, gloom & rain but there were a few nice days later in the week. This part of NS is one climate zone warmer than home, and I can see it. There's snow in my yard at home. Not a lot, but, it's there, and my grass is brown. Here, there are green ferns under the deck. Yards are green. At a garden centre/sculpture trail, I saw shrubs I've never seen before and many green things. That was pretty exciting. I didn't really ex-pect to see such a difference in the plants. I gather it's been an unusually snowless winter so far, but still.
Happy New Year to you both, and thank you for following the crew's adventures through the year!
