Edit Reason: more photos! :D
)
Borrowing the idea from a couple other members' random-photo threads, I'll use this one to post some extras.

Shot a few pix on the back porch this afternoon.
Samantha.
Poor Tuesday needed a little rhinoplasty; she came apart at the seams a little bit...
Daesani's not squeamish, and Samantha provided some moral support.
"I can rock a fancy hat too."
*ahem*
"Me too..."

After our photo challenge shoot, some of the minis wanted some extra camera time. Miki in particular seemed to be saying "take my picture please?"
In the garden...
It's a big world!
Looks like Scarlett is lying down but she's actually standing on the rock.
HOW did I possibly not ever notice that she has different coloured eyes??? I guess I always thought it was the angle of the light.
And finally, our star!!
...who is patiently waiting for me to edit & post her summer holiday photos.

Okay spill. How the heck are you making the Sun do exactly what you want without disrupting the balance of the Solar System?
These are magnificent!

I want to know the same thing. Your lighting on "Maria" in your Sound of Music photo was perfect, reminiscent of the radiant glow in the cinematography of the film. And then you had time to take photos of little Miki and capture similar warm highlights. How long does the "magic hour" last where you live? As long as you need it to, apparently.
This is an adorably lovely series of photos of your little cuties. Lots of fun!

Haha... thank you guys! I shot 17 pix to get the magic light on Petra. I'd hoped to start sooner but by the time I got everyone organized, changed wardrobe, wasted some time... and had to do a quick mow because the grass was too long for my models!... the sun was behind the trees, so I kind of sat there & waited hoping a little bit would come through in the right place. When it finally happened, {insert angel choir noise} ...
I also got some new bug spray to try out, hopefully not horribly toxic, so it wasn't the usual bloodsucking swarm while trying to concentrate!
Late afternoon/early evening light is nice; I looked at the time stamp on the photos & it looks like I spent about 45 minutes starting at 7 p.m. Part of the yard was still in the sun.
I hate that it's getting dark at 9 now

Okay, the "bloodsucking swarm" sounds seriously miserable! An advantage of living at altitude in a reasonably dry climate (never mind the rain that is currently pounding the living daylights out of everything) is that I don't have to deal with those horrible little things.
That's really funny that you started your photo shoot, then stopped to mow the lawn because the grass was too tall to set up your scene!
I'm sure the heavenly choir was real! That magic is captured in your photo!

You know, it's only *rained* 4 days in 2 months (a few drips from heavy fog doesn't count). I don't know why the mosquitoes are still around; shouldn't they all be dried up...? Anyway, bugs really like me so maybe someone else wouldn't find it so bad.
I only mowed the patch where they were sitting -- little manual push mower is handy for small jobs

Some more photos from Doryn & Cherie's recent shoots.
I found a fairy cloud-gazing on a leaf...
Watching the late-afternoon sun on a yarrow.
Hopefully fairy-hexing the calla to make more flowers next summer than it did this year.
And then, the wee dragon-rider preparing to take off...
Looks like she made a new friend.
