Your thoughts on the seamless bodies? Not going to lie, I've had those exact same ones...

But the face for your little 1/12 figure is quite endearing with her wide eyes and almost ernest ex.pression. Like Allie, I'll be interested to see what you make of this littlenone, and your thoughts on everything. It does seem interesting and with great potential.

{Edit... went off to look at a review.  It was noted the hands/feet are made of different material than the body, which made me wonder if the sort of melt that plagued Groove type 2's would ever be an issue.  Probably Phicen (or anyone?) has better quality control....?}

The hands and feet are designed to be easily swapped out. The figure comes with two pairs of feet, for flats and for heels, and three pairs of hands: semi-open hands, tightly gripping hands, and "trigger finger" (or "nose picking") hands.

The seams (so much for "seamless") where the hands and feet connect are extremely unsightly, both because there are gaps where the hands and feet do not fit tightly, and because of the difference in materials.

The face looks nice, and I’m interested like others are to what you think of the seamless bodies. But the seams in the hands and feet already seem to detract from the overall look

7 March – Pinky Street DMP-ST01 Kira Kira Music Night Evil

I bought this figure pre-owned, and unfortunately she is missing her sunglasses and her bat-wing backpack.

Whenever I see an empty pizza box, I inevitably begin to wonder, "what can I use that cardboard for?" Today, using a recently acquired empty pizza box, I started working on the first Pinky-scale room box project I've attempted in a long time. Of course, the last Pinky-scale project I started remains unfinished. This project joins two Smart Doll scale projects I've also been working on for a while. Starting new projects is relatively easy, particularly when there's a new pizza box to work with. Finishing projects, not so much. The enthusiasm wanes fairly quickly.

Starting new projects and never finishing them is something I do awfully often... She's a cute little devil, maybe she'll find a way to force help you finish this one.

it's weird... the sort of unpredictable chemical reactions seen in so many enthusiast/collector market toys
employing unusual/exotic polymer compositions. scares the daylights out of me.

personally, i suspect that the Chinese production sources are largely to fault for this;
they do seem to have a long standing habit of getting things
like plastic chemistry and Zinc die-casting wrong on an all-too regular basis,
probably all for the eress sake of saving a few cents whenever and wherever they can...

She is actually helping! She is working as my "size model" to help me keep things in scale. Rather than, y'know, measure and sketch out a diagram, I simply ask Pinky Evil to step in for a quick "eyeball estimate."

I know, right? Even die-cast metal toys and accessories corrode and crumble! It's always a shock to open a storage tub and find metal objects have disintegrated!

The never-ending quest for short-term profits certainly impacts the "collectibles" market. Funny how objects from a hundred years ago often survive just fine, but "High Quality" (meaning: ex-pensive) items purchased within the past few years often dissolve and melt and crumble and deteriorate.

8 March – Pinky Street Greatest Tag Boxxx Round .01 Tejho Tenge Aya

Aya represents the beginning of my Pinky Street infatuation. She was not the first Pinky figure I acquired, but she was the first one I wanted. One of my Flickr friends posted photos of this figure way back in 2004-2005, and it was those photos that inspired my interest in toy and doll photography. This was the figure I wanted to photograph.

At the time, the Tenjho Tenge Aya figure was already sold out, and aftermarket prices on eBay were quite eensive ($40 to $50 USD), so I began my Pinky Street collection / obsession with current issue figures (which cost a more affordable $11 -$12 USD with shipping). Eventually I shelled out the dough to get an Aya figure.

Currently I have several of this figure. Now that Pinky Street production has been discontinued and interest has waned, this particular figure is often available at quite affordable prices ($10 - $15) on the secondary market, even mint-in-box.

If I have a "favorite" Pinky Street figure, this is probably the one.

Oh, and... more snow today! YAY!!!

Aya's adorable. I can see how one would get hooked on Pinkys after seeing adventure photos with that cute face. Great shot. I like your little workshop helper too. Looking forward to seeing how the project goes. (Yeah, I know all about unfinished projects too, alas.) Wish I could give you at least half the contents of my Garage Box Shelf. You could build giant Pinky condominiums. I do need to get rid of a lot of them. I'm lazy; I just tend to chuck new boxes on the shelf.

I hauled three or four carloads full of flattened cardboard boxes and styrofoam packing inserts to the dump recycling last fall. Between what I kept and what I've since accrued, I now have another immense, teetering pile. I have a box and styrofoam hoarding issue.
