Congrats on surviving the challenge so far! And I'm sorry for your loss. I absolutely hate when I have to let go of device that served me well and get a new one.
Can you escape from the house easily, in case Triv's enthusiasm sets it on fire in the middle of the night?

The picture still looks really lovely, even with the wary feeling of letting Triv near open flame.
I am sorry for the loss of your camera, and hope you can replace it soon enough

Oh, sorry about the camera. So upsetting when a faithful camera gets damaged. Any camera repair shops nearby? Or some that will repair by mail? As far as finding another, sometimes there are good deals on old cameras on eBay. And I think it's B&H photo that sometimes has used equipment... Hope you find a solution. Fun photo; keep an eye on that girl with her fire hobby.

Who knew this girl would turn out to have such an interesting hobby!

We just installed new smoke detectors, as a matter of fact! Probably a good thing.

Triv is like a moth when it comes to open flames!

I'm considering a used option if I can find one reasonably priced, but there's always the issue of "why are they really selling it, and what's wrong with it?"

28 October – "These big pumpkins are going to need big candles!"

Probably a safe bet that they're hurtling along on the bandwagon of "My-just-bought-a-year-ago-camera-is-already-obsolete-so-now-I-have-to-buy-another-newer-one".
Digital cameras and phones.... need to upgrade before you get it out of the store. Bah .

A pineapple and a couple of pumpkins; wow, you (or the dolls!) have been busy! Do you bake them after and make all the yummy things one can make with pumpkin guts/puree/etc?

The colours & mood are great in this one.
I hope you find a good replacement for the camera soon.

29 October – Triv and Janie watch a World Series Baseball Game
Janie and Triv are not particularly avid sports fans, but on a night like tonight, with wind gusts of 40mph/60kph and flurries of snow in the air, they decide to settle in in front of the wood-burning stove, Hallowe'en pumpkins aglow and mugs of hot cocoa in hand, to watch a World Series baseball game on television and to cheer for the Houston Astros... because their team color is orange.

		EW snow
I'm glad they're getting a rest after all their hard work. They look cozy.

Haha, of course they picked the orange team!
I love dark and stormy nights and enjoying the warmth inside (although the only real fire I have are candles) with something hot and sweet to drink. I usually go for ghost stories or 'real ghost sightings' compilations on youtube (I don't particularly mind that the 'real ghosts' aren't the least bit real).
