Your house-sit spot is river front with a private dock? You're hanging with the high-rollers now, huh? Good for you!
Looks like the nice days are really nice, which makes up for the not-so-nice ones.
And a lighthouse! So river and ocean within spitting distance? Nice!
I envy people who have the skillz to draw with spray paint without making mistakes, every line perfect the first time. I can't even paint a flat surface a uniform color with spray paint, let alone do lines and shading and stuff.

It's a tiny and cute little dock, maybe 9 feet square. I could imagine sitting out there often.
It's a bit of a drive to the sea, 20 minutes or so. Most of the coastal area here is somewhat gentrified and every available bit of land has a house, so you can't randomly wander the shoreline. There are quite a few parks though. And then some areas without houses that are really middle of nowhere.
There are houses just out of sight from these pictures. I can play the same game the realtors do, where the angle doesn't show there's another house in the front yard of the listed one
Thanks to today's lousy weather, neither the cat nor I went out for more than few moments. Brrr. But at least we aren't buried in snow like some places.
Had some fun with the homeowners' tree. Even though they were going away, they went to the trouble to get and decorate it. So the crew made the most of it.
Unfortunately what Daesani really needed for Christmas is a new hand. She fell off the couch, onto a rug, not too hard, but it broke She has a tape splint and hopefully it will hold together till we get home to the crazy glue. But a new pair would be good, as she has a glued pinky on the other hand. Thanks for the lousy plastic, Groove.
Merry Christmas from the PTFCo crew!

Broken arms, broken hands: any parent will tell you, that's what happens when you let your kids climb trees!
That's really a lovely tree. I particularly like the very first photo, which presents a very believable scene of the girls sitting and talking quietly as the Christmas holiday winds down.
I discovered a "public fishing dock" on the river about a fifteen minute brisk walk from my house today, wedged in between a couple of multi-million dollar riverfront mansions. I'll have to drag some dollies down there (it's also about nine feet square, not any larger than your private dock) and "fake" some pictures that look isolated and remote.
The riverfront and ocean front here are like what you describe, too: wall to wall mega-mansions and condos and resort hotels, with an occasional small public park or a narrow walkway to the beach squeezed in to the shadowy space between looming apartment towers. At least the actual ocean beaches in this part of Florida are public; but not the riverfront.

Yes, let's see some photos on "your" dock.
The homeowners really decorated this tree beautifully. They got to enjoy it for a week or so after I left, I think. It was very nice of them to bother decorating when they weren't going to be home.
I must get back to the NS photos... as usual I took a ton and haven't sorted them out yet. In the meantime...
Introducing Jewel (mini Jupi).
When people know you like minis so much they tag you on someone's sale post and say "Alliecat needs this doll."
She arrived on Tuesday after a long strange trip from Connecticut and made a really awful week a bit less awful.
Unfortunately she won't be having adventures in what's left of the mossy woodland for a while, as it's freezing and snowy. So -- dolls with flowers!! Yay!!!
She received a warm welcome from the PTFCo crew. (I think Sunsette may have appointed a board of directors...?)

She arrived with wings?
Or ON wings? Does she migrate, like your monarchs?
It looks like you’ll have a Butterfly Manager now to oversee Operation Milkweed.
Tropical blooms inside while there’s snow outside — you’re doing something right!
Sorry to read that you’ve had yet another not-very-good week.

Omigawrsh! That first pic is total < insert string of heart emojis >!!! The colors, the pose, the hairstyle, the costume -- it all works!
The second and fourth pix have a sense of realism to the poses, like she's caught in motion, trudging through the snow.
Very picturesque snowfalls you have there, by the way.
Third shot, with shades: totes cool. But you know that. She knows that!
This is a fun sequence!
That board is rad!

The pose in the second is great. It looks like a real sports photo.

Ohh! I love these shots! What a cute snowboarding outfit! She looks like she should definitely could be a model in a sports photoshoot.

Thank you all very much
Daesani's quite flattered
HOW can it be a MONTH since I shot those, and I STILL haven't finished up the last few edits or sent my contest entry or even started on the other batch of winter pix I shot???? Operating in a state of overwhelm here; it's pretty hard to focus on anything, let alone creative stuff.
Had to get away from the house for a while yesterday, so I took Miki for a little hike and wrote something for the Dal House March Poetry Challenge... which there's still time to enter!
If I could leave the noise behind
And find a place of peace
I'd make a path through trackless woods
And there commune with trees
No human sound to jar my soul
And soon I'd be at ease
Surrounded by the whispers
Of a gentle salty breeze
I'd easier withstand the gales
In my place beside the sea
With wild and gently growing things
The rocks, the birds, the trees.

I think of her as the botanist/biologist of the crew
Having finally got my entry off to the PUDDLE photo contest, I can finally post what I was doing with Daesani before all her hot-snowboard-girl pix It was a fun challenge. I ended up with 5 pretty good shots out of 50-60-ish, and one bad behind-the-scenes one of me. ( No.) I threw a lot of snow!
Then I took some more of the crew to the ice cave on the beach for a different photo entry idea.
Petra & Catalina (& friend)
Sunny & Charonne got an outing.
Greeting the sun.
Find your horizon, and go.

Gorgeous pictures! This is when I miss having a snow-scape to work with (though I've never had anything as beautiful as an ice cave!). Their winter gear is so cute.

Thank you!
It's really more of a crevice than an actual cave, but it is very cool. Had to be cautious on this shoot as some of the icicle masses were starting to melt and I saw where a couple had fallen. So, had to stay away from that side just in case. Everyone departed unscathed!
The last snowy photoshoot... I started too late and the light was a bit frustrating, but I did get some decent pix. Alas, I now have to be more mindful of the angles of my shots out back because a monstrosity of a garage is now in the background
Here's Natalie with a friend. I got this tiger from someone on a community buy/sell. I really don't need more collectibles, I have too many now, but, I thought he might be a good photo prop, and he certainly has been. I should use him more. So far just Robyn & Natalie have had a go.
Well this is just a little silly... and the light was pretty much gone and I was cold and wet too, so only one attempt at this idea.
Thanks for looking
