The poems are supposed to be about Dals or Pullips, I thought, so no poem.
Lookin' Up Stuff... or Wastin' Time; same difference, really OK, a Magic Mermaid Sea Party sounds wonderful! Can I come??
Noo, it says "all dolls" in the challenge intro!
Depends if what you're lookin up is going to be useful, I guess.

14 March - A Doll A Day 2023:
Release the Pirate
PL2018-114 TBLeague Arhian Pirate action figure.
Or is that... Arrrrh-ian pirate?
The figure is based on a character that first appeared in a series of graphic novels, Arhian Huntress, between 2015 and 2017.
This was one of the first "seamless" action figures I considered purchasing about four years ago, but ultimately I didn't, and from time to time I have somewhat regretted that decision.
Recently, a member of one of the action figure forums offered this figure, new in box, for sale. He had purchased the figure new, briefly glanced inside the carton, then set it in his storage closet and completely forgot about it. Having recently rediscovered the figure, he decided it no longer fit the direction he was taking with his collection, so he offered it for sale through the forum at a very good price; for less, in fact, than the original retail price.
Unfortunately, at the time he posted the offer, my "hobby budget" was completely depleted, so I figured I would miss out. Several weeks later, having accrued some funds, I noticed that the For Sale notice had not been taken down, so I sent a message of inquiry and received a prompt reply: the figure was still available.
Now the Arrrrh-ian Pirate is here, and this is an arrival for which I feel compelled to open the carton. I feel badly that the poor unwanted thing was barely glanced at and then stashed away and completely forgotten. Soon, very soon, she will be free to wage a reign of terror across the seas!

15 March - A Doll A Day 2023:
The unboxing process continues:
First Layer: body, head, hands, bracelets, gauntlets
The doll doesn't look nearly as slinky-sultry as the schlocky-sexy box art illustration. Indeed, by comparison the doll itself looks chunky and clunky. This is typical for circa 2018-2020 TBLeague figures. Recent body releases feature more of a "fashion doll" aesthetic.
The figure is based on a character that first appeared in a series of graphic novels, Arhian Huntress, between 2015 and 2017.
Second Layer: Resin base, weapons, headband, belt
The "complete figure" releases by TBLeague often included a heavy cast resin figural display base. The bases, while decorative, tend to be of little functional use in actually supporting the figure. More recent releases often leave out the base, or offer a "standard" and a "deluxe" version of the figure, with the "deluxe" including a base.

It’s nice that the forgotten figure found a home. The art looks like something a friend of mine might draw. Yes, a glimpse in the box looks a little different… I’m sure you will do some tweaking to her outfit and appearance. Hope she gets a chance to go dig for treasure on the beach before she has to go inland.

The box art doesn't look as polished as I would ex-pect from either an action figure package or a professionally published comic book, but apparently that's what the cover art of issue no. 4 looked like:

Why not? You live mere blocks from the beach.
I thought everybody on your island -- not only do you live near the beach, but you live on an island, a real island that you can only get to by boat, not like the fake island I stay on (when I'm in Florida) that has a bunch of bridges and that's actually a peninsula -- surfs, even the little kids. I mean, there are, like, videos and stuff:

I used to live on a real island. That was a long time ago now, and I feel sad when I think about not being there anymore.

Haha. I notice he's not from here. There is one guy who likes kite surfing but nobody else does. It's pretty darn cold -- when we were taking water temperatures on the harbour porpoise project long ago, the maximum temperature was about 13-14C, at the surface, in mid-summer.
Also, that's the only beach you'd get any surf on without a wall of rocks to knock your brains out on at the end of your ride
I predict you will give in and take a mermaid home

Wow, she looks like trouble!
Glad she found a home; what sort of adventures will she have?
Really, I think mermaids and pirates kind of go together…?

This is true.
Mermaid pirates... or pirate mermaids... would be a lot of fun!

Aww, they don't get to travel with you?
I suppose it might be fun to imagine them getting up to hijinks while left on their own.
Are you hitting the road already?
Hmm... pirate mermaids would be fun.
