.How long does it take to dress a doll? All day and well in to the night, that's how long! I've spent hours looking through storage tub after storage tub, trying to find bits and pieces that I know I have, or I think I have, or I hope I have somewhere. I suppose it's not the dressing of the doll that takes so long. It's finding the bits and pieces to dress the doll with. TBLeague S26A body YMToys YMT058A head Pullip Dilettante outfit

I don't have to search far, but it can be a bit annoying doing wardrobe changes when I don't have a lot of time or the light is going. Especially for multiple dolls.

The vintage tinplate baby buggy belonged to my mother when she was a little girl! I'm sure you have a lot of sentimental things like that: I can't bear to part with it, but I have no real use for it, so what am I gonna do with it? 10 August - A Doll A Day 2023: Maxie LaGrande: Wander Lass
Maxie LaGrande: Wander Lass was an attempt by Pathé News to compete with Sally LaSalle: Maid for Adventure and Sindy LaSagna: Miss Adventure of the Hearst Metrotone newsreel syndicate during the brief "girl reporter" fad of the early 20th century. Maxie LaGrande is a circa 1988 Hasbro Lookin' Smart Maxie doll dressed in Bratz, CAT Toys, and other action figure paraphernalia.

I thought it was cute and was thinking in general of the stuff you often post that you have bought and not unboxed.
Yeah, I'm still finding stuff I forgot I had, and in keeping with my usual track record, not a single piece of anything is worth anything. No hidden treasures, no unex-pected windfalls, just a lot of junk.
11 August - A Doll A Day 2023: . .
.
. More than a decade prior to the release of the campy 1980 sci-fi film Flash Gordon, another production team held the rights to the Alex Raymond comic strip characters, and pre-production was well under way until the leading actor's manager stepped in and, over the vigorous protests of the star, nixed the musical science fiction fantasy project. The management team shunted the disappointed actor in to an unwatchable spy spoof involving harem girls... sounds like a winner, right? Think again. But due to the box office success of the secret agent genre at the time, and with the science fiction genre being at its nadir, largely dismissed as childish Saturday matinee program filler, the star was denied the opportunity to play against type as the arch-villain Ming the Merciless in a special effects laden action adventure film that would likely have reinvigorated both the star's flagging movie career and the struggling sci-fi genre as a whole. Science Fiction would languish for several more years, until Planet of the Apes, with a big name cast, brought the genre back in to public favor. Motion picture history was denied the opportunity to to elevate an actor and a character to iconic status: King the Merciless, the Ming of Rock and Roll! . . NOTE – DISCLAIMER: Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental... you know the drill. The story you have just read is not true. I might have dreamed it, I don't remember.

13 August - I'm Not a Doll I'm an Action Figure A Day 2023:
The Great Pretty Good If It Works Escape
Action Man Felix hopes the trapdoor in the ceiling is, like in the movies, conveniently not bolted. Did'ja ever notice how, in the movies, a trapdoor in the floor is always cleverly hidden underneath a rug with a sofa or table weighting it down, but when a trapdoor in a ceiling is required for a desperate or cunning getaway, it is rarely locked and never encumbered by carpets or furniture? Yeah, well, Felix has noted that, too, so he's feeling pretty confident at this point that his attempt to escape from the catacombs will prove successful. He probably would have been better off if he had not wandered away from the guided tour in the first place. 13 August - A Doll A Day 2023 Felix used to live in England, years ago. Well, if the trap door doesn’t work, there’s always the ventilation shafts! That’s a fun picture of the two of them. They look so cheerful. I think these guys are nicer than some of the action figure heads I’ve seen on eBay and elsewhere, that look so angry and nasty. |
