The vintage style of your collection is so cute.
The old anime/games had real feelings.
Yeah; for starters, i am pretty well convinced that Anime Creative Teams were drawing more wholly from personal passions and general life-ex-periences, once upon a time.
it actually wasn't "Just A Job" back then... and, seemingly, many of them just didn't kowtow quite so rigidly to checking-off some almighty series of boxes, in service of some Committee's carefully-adjusted Bottom Line...

Yep.
It's so obvious to us old-timers but the younger weebs don't wanna admit it. (A few of the recent ones are pretty good- I've been pleasantly surprised by a couple this season. Maybe we're finally leaving the Anime Desert.)

The Tenka Osaki fig is cute -- and much improved with the body upgrade!
Will the costume fit the larger body? Or do you have another project in mind for the costume?
They're not dolls, they're action figures!

So; i picked this old thing up for all of $7.00 shipped... for old time's sake.
back around 2001/2002, -around the time the book had first released - i came across it at a shop. i already knew about Anime Maids... and that they were TOTALLY My Thing. Miko, however; I Barely knew a thing about yet... i certainly did not know what they were actually called. nonetheless; i REALLY wanted the book... but couldn't afford it at the time. by the time i got to return again... the book was gone, and that was that; back in those pre-internet days for me. Haven't Thought of it in forever now... and then i up and stumble upon it again, - on EBAY for dirt cheap this time - and here we are; 20-odd years on... She simply adores being in her Nightie and Ballet Slippers too much♥
Ah yes, I remember those anime drawing books... and the prices of those anime drawing books! Finding one for seven dollars shipped is a score!
I recently found a box set of CDs on eBay that I wanted but could not afford when it was originally released. I think the selling price on eBay barely covered the seller's shipping costs. So if we are patient and willing to wait TWENTY YEARS we can eventually find what we want at a price we can afford. Although with each year that passes, waiting another twenty becomes an increasingly problematic proposition. Seeing that book is a fun blast from the past!
They're not dolls, they're action figures!
