Thanx! That "film set" one is possibly my favorite of the Monster High pix I've taken this month, yet it has received virtually no response on either Flickr or Instagram. Obviously my tastes are completely out of sync with "the kids these days"... and with everyone else!

At one point I had ten of these, mint in box, from when they were being cleared out at five bucks a pop.

Today the boxed examples are priced between $50 and $150 on eBay.

But all I have left is this one loose figure.

A fortune slipped through my fingers. If only I had held on to those boxes for a few more years.

I hate myself so much.

Well, you should take pictures YOU enjoy first, and if others like them too, then that’s just a bonus. And I still think a few good stocks are a better moneymaking venture than dolls. Your pictures are always entertaining, so just enjoy the creative process – if you can!

I like the (styrofoam?) bricks.

Yeah... I wish I'd followed the "buy and hold" strategy starting... back when I started buying dolls! 

Except that, now the current administration is trying to push through an "unrealized gains" tax. Yes, they are planning to tax people on any increase in their stocks (and possibly real estate) even if they don't sell. Various sources put the proposed tax rate at 20% to 25%. But no tax breaks for losses, only a tax on "paper gains."

There just ain't no way to win anymore.

Hey, the forum – or more likely my phone – ate my post. I had written something about taxing unrealized gains being crazy. And I missed that you had already answered my question about a break on losses. There is some mention in our tax guide – which they no longer send you – about calculating unrealized gains, but I’ve never bothered with all of that.  I just send the slips that I get on capital gains.

Also – seriously, what the heck happened to my post yesterday? – Lunette is pretty and at first glance she made me think of a J-Doll.

Nooooo don’t quit! …. an ember that falls out of the fire goes cold… Maybe you just need to participate with some more people. Like that other place where you took that thing so personally.  It’s a few more people there…

I’ve got into the habit of almost always writing emails longer than a paragraph or two in a text file and pasting. Lost too many. But man, this phone dictation is a PITA.

I thought I might get drawn into Ever After High… But then Rainbow High came along…!
