gNat's Name Tag
Inspired by an Instagram post from Kitsu and her Smart Doll friends (see: @rc2agog), Natalie and the gang decided they should have name tags similar to Kitsu's.
Natalie is the "smiling variant" of Smart Doll Kanata. She is the only "pre-owned" Smart Doll in the crew, and she originally lived in Alaska prior to becoming the most recent addition to our dreary little Smart Doll outpost here in the middle of nowhere.

You have assembled quite a crew of these girls. Will they be forming their own squadron like the Ameliae??
(Oh BTW this reminds me that I heard of an Amelia for sale on FB, but apparently the person wants $300 and she doesn’t have her stock. So while I inquired about the price for you, I figured it would be a “nope”.)

Thank you for checking on that and for letting me know. You're correct, I'm only looking for Amelias complete with original stock. (I've never understood buyers who purchase "limited edition" dolls to part out or to customize.)

Rather than looting and pillaging, Janie and Triv spent Talk Like a Pirate Day assembling a wheelb- arrrr-ow.
.
This oughta be easy enough!
.
Mini Hands make Smart Work!
.
Washers, cotter pins, and axle grease, oh my! That's gen-yoo-wine gooey sticky axle grease and
gen-yoo-wine semi-ex-pensive fashion dolls, because Smart Dolls rock so that's how they roll.

All Done! Yay! Errr... weigh anchor, we sail... or roll... with the tide!

After the old planks have been pulled up, Triv (Smart Doll Symphony)
saws off bent, rusty screw heads during the deck rebuild project.

These are all so cute. I love how they always look like they are really doing the work.
I didn’t do anything for talk like a pirate day. It’s been a crap week with the construction zone from hell, so I did well to get out of bed at all.

Are they building something next door, or is it still the constant rattle-and-bang of trucks and equipment coming and going to other job sites?
21 September - A Doll A Day 2024:

Triv: "This looks like a lot of work!"
Janie: "This looks like unlimited potential!"
Three hours later, the clear blue sky was completely overcast and rain was pelting down.

"Unlimited potential", "endless possibilities" and all other variants of the phrase need to be banned, and realtors who use them should be shot.
Hope you got at least a little work done before it rained.

The come-&-go is daily. The latest round of backhoe-jackhammering and dump trucks is probably a prelude to yet another round of construction of yet another ginormous garage or... something.

You need a Smart Doll (or two) to help you look at real estate "possibilities" in a different light!
(Unfortunately, all that potential and all those possibilities inevitably require unlimited money.)

Wellll.... yes, the cost of a Smart Doll is roughly equivalent to the lumber, stain, and miscellaneous materials cost of replacing a 16' x 16' wooden deck. But the Smart Dolls supply the labor!

The stuff you let your dolls touch!!
The handy-doll photos are always so much fun. I feel like they could be in a children’s book although I’m not sure what the plot might be.

YIKES.
I read a wonderful bit of philosophy from Danny Choo recently that really resonated… But a company that charges $60 for a doll hat [or do I misremember] is not likely to ever have me as a customer.

Did I ever post pictures of the dead bat they found in the storage shed?
Yeah, Danny Choo of Culture Japan / Smart Doll comes up with some interesting observations sometimes. Other times he can come across as petulant, rude, or flat-out strange.
Smart Doll clothing items are extremely well made, but the brand seems to be gradually transitioning away from offering clothing, putting an emphasis on supporting and promoting third-party makers. I suspect the cost of making doll clothes for resale has become too high to be worthwhile.
