Congrats -- I'm glad you finally got them out of the boxes! Are you smitten now?? because you had some doubts...?
Love the cute sequence of them meeting and taking selfies. Do they stand easily on their own?
Yeah, they're pretty cute! Don't start looking at #smartdoll photos on Instagram, or you, too, may find yourself selling stuff you never thought you'd part with on eBay to raise funds to buy one... or more than one.
I did have doubts, and I still do to an extent. The main thing that bothers me about Smart Dolls is the same thing that bothers me about most dolls: the joints are too prominent. Fortunately there is a lot of Smart Doll clothing available that covers or otherwise disguises the joints. You can see on the Smart Doll web site that even the designer of the dolls doesn't seem to like the eosed joints, and most of the photos that he posts manage to cover the joints. I was hoping that, for what they cost, these dolls would have better finishing around the articulation points. That said, the articulation points are very, very good. The dolls are much more posable than any other doll I've ever seen, and the poses are quite natural and fluid rather than being stiff and awkward. Or, at least, the poses can be natural and fluid. Posing these dolls takes some practice.
Yes, they stand surprisingly easily on their own. In the fully clothed photo she is standing on her own. In the underwear photo, you can just make out the tip of the telescopic stand behind her right (screen left) foot. The included stand fits into a slot on the back of the doll. The stand is designed to be easily hidden behind the doll for photos. The dolls were designed with doll photography in mind.

I was not impressed the first several times I saw Smart Doll photos. But then I ran across some superb photos by excellent photographers that really brought the dolls to life. That's exactly the same way I got pulled into the Pullip world; I didn't like Pullips for the longest time, but then I started seeing some really great photos that gave the dolls personality and life.
Those wigs are tricky to get placed correctly. I'm still not quite happy with how they are fitted, but I'll eventually get it right... I hope. Or I can go back to that Taeyang wig... which I think looks kinda cool, actually!
They're not dolls, they're action figures!
