And I noticed when I moved to Hawaii that if it does not relate directly to Hawaii it is not covered in Hawaii news! It was weird, as thought Hawaii was a completely separate country determined to remain intentionally oblivious to the rest of the world... unless there was a way to profit through a Hawaii connection.

Welll...llll.... it does kinda feel like a separate country...
I didn't watch any TV this time. I had a TV during the winter I spent there but I don't remember what I watched besides the Merrie Monarch coverage.
One does need something like BBC or PBS to get much world news.
