Do you ever try growing the tops of pineapples?  I've tried twice and they just rotted. 

I tried in Hawaii a few times. I got the pineapple tops to grow, and to survive outdoors, but they never developed additional pineapples.

"Hi Janie! I'm carving a pineapple for Hallowe'en! Would you like to help?"

"Carving a pineapple? Most people carve pumpkins for Hallowe'en,

but a pineapple might be fun!"

"PUMPKINS! That's what people carve for Hallowe'en! I knew it was

something that started with a 'P'!"

"Uhm... starts with a 'P'... right! Maybe I'd better handle the knife part!"

"Okay, we're almost done! Let's put a candle inside!"

"You get the lid ready and I'll light the candle!"

"Oooooh, spooooky! And it smells really good, too!"
