I'm considering a used option if I can find one reasonably priced, but there's always the issue of "why are they really selling it, and what's wrong with it?"

Probably a safe bet that they're hurtling along on the bandwagon of "My-just-bought-a-year-ago-camera-is-already-obsolete-so-now-I-have-to-buy-another-newer-one".
Digital cameras and phones.... need to upgrade before you get it out of the store. Bah.

A pineapple and a couple of pumpkins; wow, you (or the dolls!) have been busy! Do you bake them after and make all the yummy things one can make with pumpkin guts/puree/etc?
