I think part of the reason people don't 'get' the idea of PB&J over here it is because grape jelly (in my opinion) is what makes PB&J really shine, and it's so hard to find grape jelly here. 

Because... in Europe they use all the grapes to make wine? 

(...) here people always make wine out of grapes

I asked my husband, out of curiosity, if he's ever come across grape jelly (he's also Hungarian, but he's also visited some countries I haven't been to), and he said he hasn't either. Though he quickly added the oh-so-true local saying, which is "you can make jam and pálinka (our (in)famous local spirit) from everything"
