Is there a location in your house where it would be feasible to install a wood stove? Sounds like it might be a worthwhile investment, if you plan to stay there.
Not really. A generator would be less invasive.

The losing power/ having to shovel out/ miserable cold part, less so, but... so pretty!
Ironically our worst power outage was in the summer when the undersea cable failed and we had no power for a couple of days. Going down the road for a bucket of water from the creek to flush your toilet is NOT enjoyable. Makes you appreciate what you have.

That sounds really stupid to not have a heat source that requires power to operate.
Well, the builder has been acknowledged by others in the community to have been incompetent...

Soooooo far behind on photos. Some day perhaps I will sort them. I have some from back in the summer that I haven't posted yet!
Oh well....
Here's Isabelle from her shoot in the fall for pic-a-week.
Some new boots arrived. It was too cold to shoot outside.
Couple more of Aislinn from today: the light was going at this point, and I only got one shot here because when I went to turn her head to face the camera I bumped the icicles and they all came down.
Not enthused about going out in the cold.
Finally, someone's Christmas wish to Santa was granted....
"I'M GETTING A SISTER!!!!!!!!"
