Where do you get the pollen if you have only one flower?Yes, when it's hot they're apparently only viable the first half of the day. I was pollinating them too late. There are bees, and I enjoyed watching a couple right up close and taking crummy blurry photos of them. They were busy, but, I gave them a little help. Watching a bee go park on a leaf and proceed to clean the pollen off itself, I was like, "HEY! that's not where you're supposed to leave it!!"
I should try planting pumpkins next season. Might be fun to try.

I collected as much pollen as I could get off the male flowers, as there were more of them earlier in the season, and kept it in a little container.
YES! you should! Try starting them indoors before planting time for a head start.

My little gardeners are showing off the results of their hard work, Mr Pumpkin's twins from his only surviving seed!
