Thanks for posting the photo of the MOTUS set-up. It looks... like something you'd find in a stereotypical trailer park, doesn't it? I wonder if the "mechanism" is in that plastic tub on the deck? I wonder if this one is connected to the Internet, or does it record data to be uploaded later? Ah, so many questions.
Still seems weird to me that they make transponders for insects and that the signals can be picked up by something like this.
Maybe MOTUS could serve as a subject for an in-depth article for your newspaper. Get paid to research something you're gonna end up researching anyway!
