I love the pirate name!

I wonder if the "mechanism" is in that plastic tub on the deck? I wonder if this one is connected to the Internet, or does it record data to be uploaded later? Ah, so many questions.

Still seems weird to me that they make transponders for insects and that the signals can be picked up by something like this.

It was So Bleepin Cold that I never even noticed the tub. Perhaps it is. As to the internet connection, the page is, like the rest of the site, rather dry.

Well, insect migration study is very much a Thing. I didn't even know some dragonflies do until recently. It would've been fun to put a tag on the gorgeous green darner I had in the garden a couple of summers ago. It looked freshly hatched and was quite spectacular. I'd love to know where it ended up.
