Also, how did you get her hat to stay on??!
On the road at the moment. Sadly, the holiday respite is over.
YAY! Road Trip! Where to now? I'm kind of simultaneously looking forward to and dreading some upcoming travel. I'll be AFK again, or already, for a while in mid-January... which is quickly creeping up! Five days in to the New Year already!
I really like the Pirate Sophia figure! It's amazingly cool with excellent accessories and a nicely designed and reasonably robust costume.
I re-bodied Pirate Sophia because I wanted her to wear shorter trousers, so I wanted nicer-looking knees than the stock body offered. I didn't want to cut the stock trousers off short because they're quite nicely fitted, so I used some "brown pants" that I've had forever and don't even know what they're from. I had picked up a "pirate-looking" female shirt to use on another project, but I thought I'd see how it looked while I was working on Sophia and I liked it. I like the stock shirt too, so it will definitely be used elsewhere.
I placed the vinyl hat in a mug of water and heated it up for 60 seconds in a microwave oven. I pressed the softened hat on to the head and held it in place while it cooled. The hat conformed to the shape of the head... to an extent... and so far is holding the shape. It doesn't fit snugly, so it won't stand up to breezes, but it stays put even when I pick up the figure to move it around.

Silly Island Story - Part 1

.This waste of time photo-narrative was created in response to a "challenge game" that was posted to three different action figure forums plus Flickr. I'm only active on one of the three forums these days, but I thought I'd try to play along. Of course, my ideas have quickly outgrown what is actually feasible considering my available time and my limited abilities, so I do not know if I will continue beyond Part One.
The "Castaways Challenge" is based on the 1960s TV show "Gilligan's Island" and was designed to inspire participation and creativity on a few action figure forums (which have all been pretty Deadsville for a while now):

They're not dolls, they're action figures!
