Hot Toys Jake Sully *and* Neytiri (new pix Aug. 18)

Pandora-size photodump comin.
Been wanting to take Jake to this spot for photos pretty much since I got him... six years ago??!?  (Ugh, the passage of time is terrifying...)  Anyway, now that Neytiri is here too, I finally got out for some photos of the 2 of them.  Had a really nice couple of afternoons just thinking about pictures, but I started too late for good light.
It was really nicely bug-less with only a few mosquitoes.  Didn't even need the bug shirt!









It would've been nice to have a little more water in the brook.








































This was a pretty challenging shoot, thanks to really steep terrain, and climbing around on the waterfall rocks trying not to fall, drop things, or lose little pieces.  Like Jake's knife which pretty much stayed in the bag because it will NOT stick on the strap, and Neytiri's arrows because I do not want to spend another hour & a half hunting for something that's exactly the same colour as the forest floor

I wanted to go a 3rd day & try for some sun down in the gorge.  I don't know if it ever gets down there -- just need a dramatic spot or two -- but I'd also like a little more water, so I ended up not going yet, and now "the woods are closed" due to extreme drought & fire hazard.  All the trails are closed.  Although the light wasn't great I did end up with 30some pictures I like.
