I've made a Thing!

This is a Moon Clock from https://www.astromediashop.co.uk ... the same outfit that sells the solar projector I took on my eclipse trips.  This is supposed to track the phases of the moon.  I thought it was really cool.  The assembly instructions would benefit from some more photos amid the wall of text, but, it went fine once I got past the tricky bit!
Of course the mini crew helped.


Opening the kit.



The tricky bit: finding the exact center of the two half-spheres.  No, you can't just line it up on a ruler.  After a little thought, I figured it out.



All the pieces punch out and are glued together.
No, Sunsette, it's not a stage.



Will the spiky bit be straight...???



Also kind of a tricky bit, getting the height right.



All put together! 
Aloalo is here to do a blessing for the hoku moon.
All that remains is to install the battery... 
(OK, that was also tricky; these rechargeables are a bit big.)



...which we did at precisely the moment of full moon this evening!
Even though we couldn't see Moon tonight thanks to another lousy winter gale. 
Will it track accurately??  We shall see!
