As I mentioned elsewhere, a neighbour "donated" her birthday flowers because she was going away and they were still nice. They came along with some little Monarch caterpillars to raise. So I've had lots of fun with the bouquet and also with some of the flowers in the garden (amid the mosquitoes) and lots of the crew have got their photos taken.

First up, Cherie, continuing the shoot for the "flowers" challenge. She looks so cute in this dress, but, somewhere the top button has come off Irritated I'll have to move the bottom one up and call it done, I guess. Anyway, the bouquet colours were perfect for her.

Then Alice had a turn in the front garden. I really liked both these colour combinations with her. And yes, the delphiniums really are that blue. One of my garden treasures!!

Well, I mean, there IS a growing season... just not a very long one slash

One more pic of Penny with the snapdragons...  these came along quite nicely and have had lots of blooms.

A library patron who knew I photograph dolls showed up randomly one day and said, "Here, I found this dress.  For your dolls."  Who knows where she found it!  Housecleaning?  So Petra got to try it on.

What wonderful photographs! I'm sure the 'found' outfit will become one of Petra's favorites! She certainly looks lovely in it; sufficiently sweet to attract butterflies, even!

My grandparents used to grow snapdragons. When I was a kid I used to be fascinated by them, because they really look like little dragon faces with moving jaws. It was also fun watching bees crawl in to and out of them.

Rosalind is a pretty one! Nice eyes! She reminds me of an 1890s era entertainer in that outfit.
They're not dolls, they're action figures!

Hahaha. Funny you mentioned; I don't recall really having noticed this before, but a ginormous bee kept me company while I was weeding a while ago, and it was crawling right down into them. Just this big bee-bum visible sticking out of the flower LOL

Shot a whole bunch of photos yesterday after the remains of the hurricane passed.  Just a rainstorm here, luckily.
I had a wonderfully entertaining nature-afternoon, between FOUR migrating hummingbird ladies fighting over my feeder, and this lil green snake who was looking for a safe place to shed his skin.  He(?) has moved into the compost bin.
My little nature-loving flower fairy Doryn came out to say hello.

The snake was less impressed than she was about their colour-coordination.

Then I took Ika to the beach to shoot a pic for the Dal House photo challenge.  We're having a photo/haiku activity this month.  If anyone has a Dal and would like to join in, come on over.

A green-haired dolly and a green snake? Really? REALLY? What an AMAZING picture!

What are the chances that a bright green snake would turn up when you were outside taking photos of your green-haired dolly?

Actually, I've never seen a green snake like that in temperate climates.

Such a mellow snake, too.
They're not dolls, they're action figures!
