May (the 2020 Quarantine End Soon) Scavenger Hunt

Clever idea for the final prompt. And also to provide 2 of them if people can’t work out the clues to the crossword.

We generally do our photos on the weekend, so it will be a few days until we have time to do it. So time to collect the items at least!

This is SO BRILLIANT! And the clues are perfect, too! Especially impressive as English is not your native language... or so you claim!     Must be those preternatural vampirish powers or something.

I have some catching up to do, so I'm happy to see the Three Day Quarantine period!

Since everyone who's active in this thread replied, I think that everyone who wanted to do the puzzle did and it's safe to post the Final shot and the answers.

On Raven's altar, there is a tiny decorative tin box, a greeting card (art by Jane Crowther), a non-silver replica of Prague groschen (medieval silver coin) and a ring and a brooch made of real silver, a bouncy ball, and glass is represented by catalytic lamp. The small stuff is not very visible, so here's a detail:



Your eyes do not deceive you, there really is a pelvis in that bouncy ball. My grandma gave it to me (the one who gave me my Sleeping Beauty figure). She used to be a doctor, and she likes bones and dark humor. I spent all my summers at her house as a kid, and she had a lot of influence on me when I was growing up.

Interesting bunch of stuff in the photo.  I had to google "catalytic lamp".  Yours looks much cooler than the "modern looking" ones on Amazon.  And that's a really cute card.


...If you give Dawn enough of the shiny things, she'll use the magic things to conjure a promising future for you.

Ooooh, this is wonderful! I love the magic atmosphere of this photo, you made all the items work together so smoothly. And you even used the clue itself, not just answer for the glass one, how awesome is that?

Congrats on completing the whole hunt!

Oh, and you asked about the deadline a while ago and I didn't answer, right? Sorry! I don't have a specific date planned, since there's only a handful of people who are going to finish this, and no prizes, so I don't think a deadline is necessary.

I did the final photo - using the puzzle, which was a fun idea!



1/ Box - a tin i keep pins & stuff in for knitting
2/ Card - a souvenier postcard from Port Douglas with a Ulysses Butterfly
3/ Glass - fancy 40th birthday champagne glass (present from my parents)
4/ Silver - tiny coffee pot & cup from Dubai.  It's part of a set that has another 5 cups & a platter.
5/ Ball - I'm making a forum-approved pair of stripey socks from this ball of wool.

Took me a while to get to this, because I had to a) get the items together and then b) let the dolls fight it out over who got to pose. Izzy won the battle, because she looks great in anything and she fights dirty.



Here we have a Box: a Pullip box (this is the one Bethan arrived in). Card/s: these are from a set of Bond Girl playing cards. Silver: it's hard to see here, but I will post a close up, this is a replica of Sting, Bilbo's sword from The Hobbit. Lejays bought it for me from Hobbiton on one of our visits there. I usually wear it on a chain around my neck. Glass: an oversized cocktail glass that Izzy loves, you may remember her New Year shot sitting in it. Ball: a giant tennis ball that we got from the Australian Open one year.

I'm a bit of a Bond film nut and they had an exhibition around the films at the Melbourne Museum some years ago which is where I got the deck of cards.

I combined some of the objects, but I also went with both options (5 of the previous prompts plus the new puzzle prompts)... so we have Daphne wearing black (and a bow), with a celestial themed dress, background, and (silver) box; she has a card with something with wings on it, as well as a glass ball (marble), kettle, and time device.
