If they wanna get their legs all smudged with tar from the rig, then OK, I guess... LOL

Someone must have done a mashup novel/movie/something about vampire pirates.

Climbing tar-coated rigging is a task better delegated to boys... or to trained monkeys. The monkeys are probably better at it.

Kapitän Sonja had a crew of vampire pirates aka vampirates on the U-PST Pinky Street submarine back in, like, 2007.

Another pirate??! You are going to have to build a ship for them; you know that, right?? LOL
I feel like I've seen this one somewhere before as I recognize the base.

Those Pinkys look like a crew you wouldn't want to mess with.
They actually made vampire Pinkys??

There was discussion back in Ye Olde Pinky Street Dayes (circa 2005 - 2009) as to whether the PK008 figure represented a "vampire" or a "yaeba girl." Yaeba is a Japanese word meaning "teeth," and exaggerated teeth, particularly canine teeth, became a Japanese fashion trend for a time.

I agree, if I continue to assemble or accrue pirate figures I should try to construct either a ship deck setting or a dim and smoke-filled pirate grog-house (The "Admiral Benbow" Inn). The display base for the WS018 figure was sold separately, cost in excess of $200 USD, and looked like an odd hodge-podge of a ship's bow, stern, and wheel deck.

A full-length deck model in 1/6-scale (suitable for action figure or Pullip dolls) would be enormous. A small pirate ship would be 25m (80ft) to 45m (150ft) long, or 160 inches (13 ft / 4m) to 300 inches (25 ft / 8m) long. 'Kay, that's not gonna happen -- although it'd be wicked cool! Maybe a 2ft square deck space would be more realistic.

There's a member on one of the action figure forums who is constructing a 1/6-scale Victorian-era steam launch using traditional boatbuilding techniques and powered by a live steam engine. His machine-shop skills and woodworking talents are almost beyond the comprehension of my feeble little mind:
https://onesixthfigures.forumotion.com/t...eam-launch
I wish I had machine-shop skills (I mean - fabricating machines that work from hunks of metal!) and true craftsman-grade woodworking skills (how many years would it take to learn that? More years than I have left, I'm sure.).

Anyway... I opened that box:

War Story WS018A Pirate World: Spirit Captain Aisha 1/6-scale action figure.

In some online descriptions the name "Aisha" is replaced with "Elsa."

The stock body is of poor quality, not far removed from "dollar store" Barbie knock-off bodies, with a large visible gap at the shoulder joints, so I replaced the original body with a Jiaoudoll 10E (the only body I had at hand) flexible seamless body. To my surprise, the costume fit the Jiaou body.

(The stock body was similarly "busty" in appearance, so no, I did not intentionally enhance the figurehead-esque figure.)

The original costume design has the purple cloth sash on the outside of the faux-leather jacket, but I put the sash under the jacket -- accidentally at first, but I decided I preferred it that way.

Accessories include a sword (of course), a telescope, a pistol, and (not pictured) a compass, a small bird (a cockatiel rather than a parrot), and a plastic treasure chest and plastic gold coins.

That base is a ship designed by AI, as far as I can see! LOL
Yes, you could build a quarterdeck or a foredeck, and leave out the waist and most of the rigging.
Like you need another project!

I thought that figure looked a little, um, different, from the stock photos.

I've redesigned existing character Dread Pirate Margot'chelle Rumscupper using bits and pieces from a variety of sources. The body is a Jiaoudoll 10E. The head sculpt is a SuperDuck SDH021B.

If you think you catch a glimpse of a pointed ear, you're correct; Margot'chelle has joined the Elven Pirate krewe.

I'm working on full names for the recent arrivals, Sophia, Aisha, and Vampirella.

That would be a Pirate Elf on the Taffrail (which doesn't rhyme nearly as well), who watches to see if you've been nautical or nice.

I "rebuilt" this 1/6-scale nun figure yesterday, replacing a full seamless body, which was not needed here as the habit restricts movement, with a jointed body salvaged from the Pirate Aisha upgrade project.

The shoes fit better now, giving the nun figure more stability. I tightened up the lining of the coif (hat) and tweaked the drape and detailing of the belts and beads.

The habit is a mix of vintage nun doll parts from the 1950s-1960s and a currently available 1/6-scale costume set.

I want to add a strap to the guitar so she can hold it in a free-standing position.

How about a Puck on the Main Truck?? xp

Other than auditioning for island photostories, how do the nuns fit in with your gang?

Or a dwarf on the wharf.

The nuns came in to existence following some back-and-forth commentary during a collaborative photo-story game on one of the action figure forums. Originally it was a throw-away verbal reference during the 43rd Annual All-England Retro Secret Agent etcetera etcetera Convention contest.

https://actionmanmobileops.forumotion.co...me-contest

After being mentioned again in a Doctor Evil story, the convent was "founded" i.e. became story-wide canon. The Little Sisters of Mercy quickly morphed in to The Sisters of Little Mercy who actively defend the airspace over their convent with a squadron of refurbished Messerschmitt fighter planes. When they take their vows the Sisters adopt the names of First World War German aircraft manufacturers or models, hence Sister Albatros, Sister Taube, and Sister Gotha.

Stupid, I know. Throw-away gag lines sometimes have repercussions far beyond their anticipated impact, and as a result the nuns not only exist but they have somewhat of a "lore" or backstory.

Jenny could do some damage with that blade while her enemies were, um, distacted.
Collaborative stories sound like such fun.  Just having a group with that much participation where everyone joins in.
