Ahh, you have lupins!  (Whether or not you put the “e” on it seems to vary here.)  Are they always purple? 

The "interpretive sign" at the park spelled it with an "e." Silvery Lupine.
The wild ones here are purple. I do not have a sufficiently practiced botanical eye to have identified any other colo(u)rs.

Hopefully Yasmin’s platforms were high enough to keep her feet dry when she forded the flooded path.

Situations such as this are why Yasmin wears platform shoes when hiking!

Yeah. Because there aren't enough horrors in the world right now.

I think migraine-infested brains taste nasty.

Or... are we getting closer to diagnosing a cause for your migraines? Do you sleep with your windows open?

Have you tasted migraine-infested brains?    (I'm not familiar with Czech cuisine.)

They look like they'd make perfect pets for the Addamses.

Well, that’s much worse than the shipmate who once tried to convince me that the weird bugs I was finding in my cabin would climb into my ears at night and get into my brain…. (I threw the ones I found over the partition into his.)

Those "weird bugs" were probably the larval form.

29 July – "Remember When We Were Almost Famous?"

"Do you guys remember that time somebody recognized us at an anime convention?"

"Yeah! That was... from our photos on Flickr... I mean... we were almost famous! For a while."

"Guess what, guys? We're still... kind of almost famous!"

"Huh?"

"Today somebody asked about us on Instagram!"

"Not!"

"Yes! Somebody ran across Eiko89 on Instagram, and commented on one of her Pinky photos, and the person mentioned that she remembered Fat Boy from the Pinky-Street forum. She actually said 'davidd' and not 'Fat Boy.' Then Eiko said, 'oh, he's here on Instagram as @the_dollie_dungeon.'"

"You mean... somebody remembered us? And... asked?"

"Yuh huh!"

"Well... cool!"
