Yay. New girl should have a chance to have some photo adventures rather than going into off-season limbo right away.
Nice vintage suitcase -- a couple of those around here too.

Yeah, the suitcase (matching set of three, of course, because the good ol' days) was in a closet at my parents' house my entire life. After we cleaned out the house for sale, I brought the suitcases home with me. I couldn't bear parting with them, just because they'd always been around, y'know?
I know you know. You have a house full of stuff like that.
Anyway, I decided to try using one of the old hard-sided cases instead of the newer soft bags I've always used. I'm finding I rather like it.

Yeah, it's a fun accessory, and the price was right. Three bucks, I think. It's a "pet hat" I found at Walmart, designed for dogs... but perfect size for 1/3 scale dolls!
23 March - A Doll A Day 2023:
I'll be On The Road and Away From Keyboard for a while starting on Friday, so this is my last post for a bit. I'll be driving back to Utah, and then I need to see if the house there is still standing, and what the winter damage is, and try to get Internet service restored, so it could be a while.
I'll be snapping pix along the way, so A Doll A Day posts will resume as soon as practicable.
Y'all stay outta trouble 'til I get back.
In the meantime, here's a photo-story installment to keep y'all entertained:

Edit Reason: I’m just so tired :(
)
A pet hat?! What a great idea! How does it fit on a Pullip?
Cute photo; she looks ready to go! Although, she may be wondering how much work awaits at the other end.
Speaking of pet hats, have you heard about people 3-D printing hats for their sea urchins? You can look that one up and waste some time online!
You’ve really created a great setting with the surf shop. Where did you get the teeny sextant! Ari is very cute. What are they going to look at!?? Leave us in suspense….
Safe travels!!

The tiny sextant is a Pullip item; from Taeyamg Captain Hook, I believe.

I'm back, but, among other issues too numerous, and exhausting, and ekspensive, to mention, the SD card slot on my computer has stopped responding. I'll need to rummage through my storage tubs to find the one that has electronical gizmos in it, and hope that there's still an USB SD reader in there somewhere.

Oh bummer. Was looking forward to your pix from the road. Computers are a PITA, aren't they. Think of All The Things We Got Done in an average day before we spent so much time on screens.
I just use a cable to upload the pix from the camera... you'd need some software though, maybe.

28 March - A Doll A Day 2023:
Yeah, it's a doll photo. Sort of.
See the trellis thing, there, in front of the pointy-roofed structure?
Look through the trellis. See the blob of snow on the hillside?
That blob of snow is the car, and that's where Triv and Janie and the other Travelers are.
There's too much snow to reach the top of the driveway.

Fun Break
1 April - A Doll A Day 2023:
"If we open up this cover, the sun might help open up the frozen water lines!"
"D'you really think that'll work?"
"Uhmm... it's more like 'hope' than 'think.'"
(It worked! No crawling under the house! At least not for this.)
2 April - A Doll A Day 2023:
"Is this where Fat Guy crashed the car in to a fence post?"
"Yeah! What a loser! 2400 miles across the country, then BAM! He slides the car in to a fence post a coupla hundred feet from the house!"
"We shoulda been driving!"
3 April - A Doll A Day 2023:
"We're like Mallory and Irvine!"
"How 'bout we be Hillary and Norgay instead; they actually survived."
4 April - A Doll A Day 2023:
"How many days until guests check in to this tipi?"
"Far too few!"
"Are we gonna make it?"
"I can't say I'm optimistic."
5 April - A Doll A Day 2023:
Feast Day of St. Vincent Ferrer - Patron Saint of Plumbing and Carpentry
There has been so much plumbing work to do in such a short time that we don't even have pictures of most of it. Fortunately, St. Vincent Ferrer responded to pitiful begging for Divine Assistance when the situation seemed hopeless.
6 April - A Doll A Day 2023:
"Let's get some photos uploaded! This card reader should work!"
The card reader didn't work. Apparently it is too old to be recognized by the computer.
Fortunately, I found a cord that would fit my camera. Transferring pix from the camera to
the computer is a slow process, but it works.

Yippee, welcome back.
Missed your crew's daily adventures.
I guess if you buy an ek$pensive car, all you can afford after that is a budget motel? ...OR, maybe the reason s/he can afford the ek$pensive car is BECAUSE they stay at budget motels!! (...man, I'm so cheap I should have a freakin' Ferrari )
OMG the snow ...I mean, it is pretty, but, it's also APRIL. That's enough. But it seems bizarrely patchy in the later photos...?
I love the sledding pictures -- so cute! Did you actually send them down the hill?
Sorry to see they're back at work again... I don't think they got much of a vacation. I hope you pay them well

I ended up talking to the guy who owns the Corvette. It's almost brand new. He had driven it up to the factory where Vettes are manufactured, where he was placing an order for another one, and was doing a big road trip loop. He is a retired Corvette specialist mechanic who built race cars for a living. For him, it's about the drive, and the hotel is just a place to sleep... cheap!

Yeah, logistics and communication are often the sticking points!
Always have a back-up plan:

LOL.
Oh goodness, she looks angry. I would be too if I was dumped into a snowy landscape dressed like that.
...then again, I'd never be dressed like that .....
I'm still confused by your patchy snow. How is there none at all in the background and then your slope is covered...?
