Funny fact - this angle is the only one that doesn't show walls of both my apartment building and the one next to mine, and there is a busy street right behind those trees. But you can't hear the noise from the photo and when I manage to avoid ugly building photo-bomb, it looks like I live in a serene place surrounded by greenery...

Zomby Gaga. This doll is collaboration between MH and Lady Gaga and her Born This Way Foundation, Zomby Gaga is the doll form of Lady Gaga's look in videoclip for Born This Way song.

Interesting that you actually managed to get one. Although they were not supposed to be difficult to find, distribution seemed to be irregular, and they did not seem to be on the market very long.

davidd - I found out that German TRU was going to stock her on their online store, and I was lying in wait for several days and then I snatched her as fast as I could. She sold out in a few days. I haven't seen her in Czech Republic. And yes, Mattel's distribution schemes are the most peculiar ones.

Killer Style Operetta



I love her dark make-up. She looks somewhat blue on this pic, I didn't manage to correct that... Edit: blue as in color, not mood.

Operetta is another MH figure that apparently has a lot more versions than I knew about.

These are definitely killer pics of her killer style!

I always appreciate the little touches Mattel included that related to the figure's theme, like the musical notes on her skirt in this version.

I knew that there were lots of MH, but over 700!! I'm gobsmacked by that number.

Lejays - thank you! Florianne always wanted to be a gardener, so she's in control of my window-garden. I'm behind schedule with this year's gardening, but once it's all done, I'll definitely use it to take some pics!

Gloom Beach Frankie in one of I <3 Fashion Frankie's outfits. She's a newcomer, so she isn't in the Army photo.

I remember when the Gloom Beach line was released they were initially extremely difficult to find. Distribution took forever to stores that were not in big cities. Gloom Beach was the third Monster High release, following First Wave and Dawn of the Dance, and the popularity of Monster High had begun to skyrocket, so anticipation was extremely high. Those were exciting times in the Monster High world.

The colors are beautifully saturated in this fun Frankie foto!

davidd - thanks! I miss the old MH days. Back then I lived near awesome toy store that had almost everything. MH came to Czech Republic a few months after US launch, and even before that, I've been oogling MH website and bought first dolls right when they got here, so I've been there from the start, and boy, was that a crazy ride. Aaaaaah, memories

Alliecat - thank you!!! To be honest, it would probably take me several years to take pics of all those dolls, considering how exhausting it is with my current 174 dolls... But it sure would be fun!

And a little bonus - it was raining the whole day today and I tried to capture that, with zero success, of course. But there are visible raindrops on the 'fence'.

Signature Amanita is such a fun model to work with...

I found myself looking at closeups & owner pix of Wilhelmina the other day... she is quite striking. I think you captured the wet day just fine. Light and colours have a certain quality when it's raining, and that comes through -- plus, of course, the drips.
I like your closeup profile of Amanita. This black-background minimal-lighting thing is quite intriguing

Amanita's green coloration is quite intense in your photos! Your lighting skills are top notch!

Alliecat - thank you! Wilhelmina is awesome, I love her to bits. But she's impossible to take photos of in tent - on white background, her face isn't quite there, on black background, her dress disappears, leaving me with disembodied floating head on the photo... Hopefully I'll be able to take her out soon.

davidd - why, thank you so much! I don't think my lighting is particularly good, so it's nice to hear (well, read) words of praise... Amanita's skin is so radiant, you don't really have to do anything special to make her look vibrant and glowing...
