It was fun lining up the shot to get the sparkle on the wing.

This scene reminds me of the property my grandparents had when I was a wee lad: over 20 acres of forest that looked very much like your image, with wild irises and even wild orchids ...

Oooh, that sounds lovely.  And is pretty much what I am looking for right now.
We have some tiny bog orchids too, "dragon's mouth" look a little similar.

I have a million folders on my laptop with photos that need to be sorted.  Many are pic-a-week that turned into quite a lot of pix and a whole photoshoot.  Somehow I just don't get round to going through them. Some day.  Today I just added more

... and uncharacteristically I didn't really do anything to observe it.  Many years I'll lug home a bag or 2 of stuff from the beach, but just wasn't up for it today.  Every day should be Earth Day though, right...?
But anyway, here's some more nature...  Dolls With Flowers continues!
