I like Nat's hat! She's ready for derby day -- the horse kind of derby, not the hat kind of derby.
You put a lot of effort in to your flower beds, but it certainly pays off!
The "from space" photo shows your lot surrounded by trees. Was that taken before the "new neighbors" moved in?

There are still trees on the west side, although they do not stop the noise and pot fumes. On the east, there are trees toward the road. I cropped out the back corner where they have all been cut right to the property line. The satellite view is also out of date as it does not show the ongoing construction of Isengard next door
The wildflowers don’t take much work, just a big burn in the spring and a little seed-scattering. I miss being able to spend undisturbed time with my flowers.
We have a new crew member. Welcome Onyx!

Welcome Onyx! One of the littles that I wish had been made into a big Dal too.

Yeah, a full-size Onyx would be cool.
July 29 & 30 are Daesani & Petra's arrival anniversaries, so the gal pals had an anniversary snapshot.

Onyx is one of the cuter little designs. (Those flowers match her eyes!!)

I like the nautical setting for Dae and Petra's arrival anniversary photo.
I like nautical settings in general. I wish I still lived somewhere nautical.
Do you have another house-hunting trip scheduled?
"Isengard has been described by Tolkien scholars as an industrial hell, and as an illustration of the homogeneity of evil," or so sez Wikipedia. That sounds bleak.

Yeah, pretty much. My very good friend, who probably gets far more updates than he enjoys, is also a LOTR fan and it was his idea, "you live next to Isengard". Appropriate; complete with orcs I'm just waiting for the pit to open... after all the backhoe-jackhammering I wouldn't be surprised. Neighbourhood is literally nightmare fuel.
Anyway, here's a nice photo.

Been wanting to shoot Dae & Yuki together in their stock for ages. Finally got a few pix today.

Dae and Yuki look ready to storm Mount Doom.
When I was on the endless airplane flight from the other side of the world I could see various seat-back screens. One guy was watching what seemed to be all of the LOTR movies. So now I can say I've sort of seen most of them, even though it was from a distance without sound. I've read the books, so I got the gist of it.
You should put up a signpost on the property line that says "Sharkey's End."

Wait, you haven't actually watched the movies? You should... they're pretty cool... especially if you've read the books. (Well, unless you didn't like the books.)

Pumpkin flowers are up before the sun. Daisy came out to help pollinate.

Pretty little pollinator pal you have there!
I'm still impressed that you hand pollinate your pumpkin patch! Have you ever tried an ex-periment where you hand-pollinated one section and left another to its own devices?
Coincidentally, I found myself curious recently as to how "seedless" watermelons are propagated. Turns out it's by hand-pollinating one strain of watermelon with pollen from another strain, which results in a mostly sterile hybrid. One e lanation equated the process to crossing a horse with a donkey, which results in a sterile mule.

I haven't read the LOTR books or seen the films, but I love Gollum. I rebodied two of his heads from a broken Toybiz set onto action man type bodies and I've got a couple of tiny Gollum dolls too that sit with the bigger Gollums.

*tries to get brain around Gollum heads on action-man bodies*
I do a pretty good Gollum impersonation... for what that's worth...

A few quick hand-held shots of Ros with my glads. Missed the sun. Sigh.
