Wow, that's cool! Is it mostly made of paper?

The full moon rise last night was spectacular here! I happened to glance out the window as a bare sliver was showing above the hills across the valley. I did not have a camera at hand, and the moon rises so quickly I didn't want to waste time looking for a camera or phone, so I just enjoyed it.

The moon phase tracker will be a lot of fun! Do please let us know if it is accurate.

Here's a website you may find helpful (if you're not already aware of it):

Yes, all their kits are card stock.  Telescopes, gadgets, things with moving parts, lots of cool science-y things!
It is sometimes a good idea to just enjoy things rather than trying to get photos.  I was on a photo workshop in Alberta when I decided to just sit and look at the lake.  The group leader came over to see if I was OK because I wasn't running around shooting 400 pictures a day like the digital guys were.  I ex-plained that I wanted to just sit and really take in the surroundings.

Does that site's moon image update in real time?

Marilyn got a spa session this week.  Her hair has always been kind of messy: ringlets, ugh...  But my frustration with it finally boiled over, so a long-needed and much-put-off makeover was needed.  She has so many ringlets and they were so tangled, which was why I'd put it off!

Here she is "before".  Every photo session involved shoving lots of hair out of her face.

Lottttttss of ringlets.

Waiting for results.

Neat and shiny!

Then let's immediately put her on probably the snaggiest thing she could sit on!

I thought this was a bit too dark, but then I really liked how silvery it made her hair look.

That hair spa day looks like a phenomenal amount of work! Did you use hot water or some kind of hair treatment potion?

The one boil perm I attempted took a long time and didn't come out very well. Lots of stray hairs remained. And I wasn't starting with ringlets.

Seeing those messy ringlets reminded me why I sold all the Pullips I had that had their hair in ringlets. Way too much trouble to keep in line, especially for someone who doesn't even have the patience to brush doll hair.

I love the red and blue nautical setting. That miniature painting is very nice.

Marilyn looks adorable in her little cap!

As for that moon website -- yes, the various lunar and solar statistics update in real time, and the times in the equinox / solstice chart update local time to reflect the user's location.

Yes, it was a lot of work which is why I let things go so long.  She's really needed it pretty much since she arrived.  It isn't really hard, it just takes time & patience, so in that sense it's a bit meditative, IF you have the time to do it.
I combed it out in a bowl of warm water.  Could've put fabric softener in it but didn't want to have my fingers in that for ages.
Did you try the boil perm with straight hair or curls?  I think styling is much easier if there's already a curl and you're just neatening it.  The only time I really styled anything was Claudine's hair after her re-root.
Brushing is better done "now" than "later" ... because it only gets worse!  LOL

It dumped snow again, ugghhh....
I wanted to shoot some minis with the last of the Christmas decorations to be boxed up before I put them away, so I waded out through knee-deep snow for a quickie in the last corner of the backyard that has privacy.

With Sidika & Darla.  These 3 got the photo call this week because they're the only ones really dressed for winter at the moment.

Sidika has a Petite Blythe outfit.  A bit small, but cute.

I haven't decided whether Cygnie is Noelle's little sister, daughter, wee cousin.....?

Waited quite a while for a bit of sun on them with the blue sky behind.

Your post-Christmas scenes are looking festive and fun.

I sense you are growing weary of winter. It should be nearly finished. Maybe.

Putting away the holiday decorations always feels a little bit sad. Maybe that's why I rarely put any up. Or maybe it's because I'm lazy. "Meh, just leave 'em up, it'll be Christmas season again soon enough."

Noelle and Cygnie look elegant and stylish... and sparkly!

Again, superb eksposure on the white hair and highlights. I'm about ready to toss my stupid camera in the trash, altho' I suspect the eggsposure issues have more to do with the stupid camera user than with the stupid camera itself.

I have to admit to some cheating on the contrast again, although the ex-posure did come out pretty well in the sun.
Winter finished? Ha. It's not really "spring" here till May Cry

The gal pals are having a colorful festive elegant time! Very pretty scene. I like the fairy lights with the gauzy fabric.
